The #62 Ferrari was very slow. Unsighted by the sun Gidley slammed into his rear at full speed

I watch on a stream and like always, it lags behind the chat rooms attached to it and comments I can see on the twitter feed.

So I got a warning of a "big crash" about 20 seconds or so before it happened, when it cut to the slow car I expected the wreck to have happened behind him and the cameras were just catching up with it.....
Then when the impact happened I was stunned, make no mistake it's one of the hardest hits I've ever seen.

Best wishes to both drivers because damn, that was awful.

Thank you.

What's scarier is the broadcast is only really updating us on the Ferrari driver and hasn't said anything about Gidley.

Just seen the accident on youtube. Horrendous. Here's hoping the best for both drivers.

This is the worst part of being a racing fan, we're left in limbo after an awful accident and only have speculation and guesswork to go on.

Stay strong everyone, don't believe anything you read on FB or Twitter etc either way, until it's official.

^That is good news but as we have learnt from the Schumacher saga, stable doesn't mean all that much.
