I can see them both blaming each other for their perceived failings tbh.

Fernando blaming Ferrari for not getting a car worthy of his talents to bring home the titles

Ferrari blaming Fernando for all the political B.S. (meeting with Horner in full view of the press, swearing at the team, being a difficult so and so)

With that kind of attitude it'd be hard for them to ever agree and move forward tbh.

Everyone seems to be forgetting that Alonso is still one of the best drivers out there, isn't he! :o

If Ferrari can't provide a better car to their drivers, firing Alonso won't change anything. They'll just lose that extra talent/experience that he does have and that allowed him to take the car to places it didn't even remotely deserve.

From the available drivers from which they can pick, only Kimi can give them some of that back (and even that is a gamble, will the car suit him as much as Alonso?)

It seems that you just cannot win a thing if you don't have Newey

Prost was one of the top 2 drivers on the grid and still got sacked from Ferrari. McLaren were also happy to boot out of the best drivers out there due to the issues he caused.

People keep banging on about how the car isn't good enough, but frankly that's rubbish. The 2012 championship was thrown away by Alonso and Alonso only. From Japan onwards he needed help from Massa. Took himself out of Japan, only finished a couple of seconds up the road from Massa and Korea. In India Massa sacrificed his qualifying to help Alonso and even then Fernando was only just ahead of him. At Abu Dhabi Vettel was sent to the back and Lewis retired, so it was Alonsos time to capitalise and he only gapped Vettel by 1 position and failed to win the race. At the US GP he was outqualified and had to get Massa penalised just to aid him and in the race he still only finished a couple of seconds up on Massa. Alonso threw the 2012 title away at Suzuka, and then couldn't get his head together to the point where he could even out perform Massa - a man who we all know isn't even in the same league as Alonso. He got so much help from Massa and the team at the end of the season, and he never performed to the level he should. His late season performance was not that of a world champion.

Bit of a pointless statement then really. Plus it's still wrong.

MW: Yeah, very happy to be on the podium here at Monza. It’s one of the most famous ones in the world, up there with Monte Carlo and a few other signature events but yeah, brilliant to experience that, even though the atmosphere I was not completely a fan of, to be honest. Sebastian won the race and the atmosphere is not completely correct but anyway… that’s their choice.

When Mark Webber is defending how people treat Sebastian Vettel, you know somethings wrong. Completely agree with Mark. Air Horns during the national anthem for someone they dislike is a bit pathetic.

Also found this amusing:

Quote:
Q: (Andrea Cremonesi - La Gazzetta dello Sport) Sebastian, during the race we heard a little message radioed by you that you were complaining about the rear light on the Vettel car. I would like to know how disturbing, how annoying it was for you during the race?

SV: Me?
FA: Was the question for me? Well, it was...
SV: Will you listen now? You complained about the red light?
FA: Yeah, yeah. It was disturbing a little bit. Obviously it’s a very strong light with no rain.
SV: It’s worse in here.
FA: Sebastian is not used to having a car in front so he doesn’t know how it feels to have a red light on but when you are behind, a little bit close, it’s always flashing and sometimes you just have to touch one button because that’s the red light or something that you press by mistake, if he could switch, but he didn’t. So the whole race I had it flashing in my eyes.
SV: I was trying to get away so it wasn’t disturbing you so much.
FA: You didn’t...

Newey started working in F1 with March in 1988. Since then he's won 9 titles. The ones he won they were the best team every time (arguably 1994 and 1997 weren't, but Schumacher and Benetton fucked those up anyway). When he's lost, he's lost to teams which are better.

What am I trying to say? If Newey isn't in a good team, his cars are beatable by teams which operate better, such as Ferrari in the 00s. Newey is not a one man band like many seem to think. Red Bull is operating as the best team at the moment, not just because Newey designs the car.

Taking Santander with him.

There is another rumour which suggests that the reason McLaren have not taken up their option on Button yet is because they believe they have a chance of signing Alonso.

Fernando and Whitmarsh? I mean this in a positive way, but there is no chance in hell Alonso would put up with Martins bullshit.

Mark Hughes believes in the rumour, that's all I know.

in italy there are many rumors about Kimi coming back to ferrari, i think they also asked alonso about that. The point is, i dont see Alonso and Kimi togheter, since the Prost-Senna time no-one has ever tried again to put two really strong championship contenders drivers together. Coulthard was way weaker than Hakkinen, Webber is way weaker than Vettel, button is way weaker than Hamilton, Massa was way weaker than kimi and so on. The closest may be Alonso and Hamilton ( while Hamilton was still considered a rookie )at mclaren and you all know how it ended up.
other thing is that Alonso said a couple of days ago that is wish is to end his career in ferrari and by my experience every time someone makes a statement like that, after a couple of months he leaves. Let's wait and see.

I think it'll be Raikkonen and Massa at Ferrari and Alonso with either go to Lotus or leave F1 altogether. I'm probably completely wrong though.
