Looks like they're really trying to go for the whole package in 2015, although I doubt that'll happen in Germany.

edit: that didn't take long

I don't know if anyone else in the UK shares me view, but for how long can Sky Sports F1 be sustainable?

Currently, there's still half of the races on the BBC. The F1 races also don't pull in figures comparable to Sky's football broadcasting. They also must spend a hell of a lot of money because they've got around 80 people at each race plus others behind the scenes. It seems like a lot of money being spent for very little in return.

I doubt they are worried at all, I think the biggest rated race was a few hundred thousand at most, if they were worried they'd cancel or give the channel away for free.

They do charge, think I worked it out at minimum £28 a month to get it (base pack + HD box + HD subscription).

The charge is part of the larger package though. It's the minimum sky pack with hd. It's not free view but it ain't an extra charge on the sky hd pack.

I get what you're saying, they do not charge extra for it, but they do charge for it.
To think you are getting the channel for free is, well, deluded.

The production is tax deductible ;)

Depends on your pov. I already had sky, so for no extra charge I did.
If I am being picky, the BBC isn't free. But it's a hell of a lot cheaper than sky.
So not deluded, just coming from a different angle.

The Sky viewer is superior. He is part of an elite. He can watch every race live from the comfort of his armchair.

The Sky viewer won't have to watch Eddie Jordan making a fool of himself trying to impress Suzi Perry.

The sky viewer can appear arrogant but is content in his own little world.

I am the Sky viewer.

The streamer is superior. He is part of an elite. He can watch every race from the comfort of his computer chair (and not have to pay a Sky subscription like a sucker).

The streamer can choose not to listen to Croft and Davidson prattle on every weekend.

The streamer can appear arrogant but is content in his own cost-free world.

I am the streamer.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Sky have always been more interested in subscriptions than viewing figures so as long as SSF1 is seen as adding or keeping subscribers to there HD/Sports packages they will keep it.

See how they run, like pigs from a gun. See how they fly, I'm crying.

The Time Lord is superior, he can view any race from the past or future on screen or at the track and never miss a moment. Maybe even change the outcome of some races that aren't going to your desires.
Just yesterday from your time I went back and saved Senna. Thank me later

well scrap that. It looks as though they signed a 3 year contract

But will Germans have all the features that Ukers, and now Italians, have in their Sky's coverage? Sadly, I guess not.

Nothing's changed considering coverage in Finland. MTV3 MAX HD shows every session + GP2 & GP3 & Porsche Supercup. I obviously will purchase MTV3 Katsomo package, which annoyingly costs 68€ per season instead of 45€ in previous seasons. You get the usual multichannel web stream and this year also with support classes. Unfortunately they reported they still won't stream in HD. Lousy service.

F1 will be live for 3 years at dutch Sport1-pay tv as confirmed today. There will be live coverage for the free practice, qualifying and races. Also there will be onboard-channels etc.

The press release says "on most racedays there will be different feeds" . So when there are too much other live sport events on at the same time of the race, there won't be any onboard or pitlane feeds available I think.

Didn't they have the full multifeed package on Canal+ as part of F1Digital+ or was it just the supsersignal?

As far as i remember, it was just supersignal with canal+ adding some verstappen-onboards.

Anyone knows if GP2/GP3 are included?

Sky are claiming on twitter they have some 'massive news' which they are announcing tomorrow.

Either Nigel Mansell is joining or Sky are going to sponsor one of the teams. Maybe Eddie Jordan has joined or even DC. Let's see how close I am tomorrow. I like these games.
