Mercedes looking strong and yet they'll find a way to fuck it up.

Correct. Over at F1Zone we had that live timing but got asked to take it down a few months ago.

It might be slightly off topic, but if anybody needs directions around Monza feel free to ask (send me a PM).

I was a the track today, but it was an eleventh hour decision as always so I didn't think about organising a meetup.

Quite interesting tweets by Emerson Fittipaldi

Quote:
@emmofittipaldi
On a Friday like today, pre Monza GP #F1 but 40 years ago, I was feeling a lot of pressure, the World Championship decision was very close.

@emmofittipaldi
That #F1 GP weekend, the Lotus Team truck transporting my race car to Italy rolled over on the road close to Milan, and I lost my main car.

@emmofittipaldi
The team then brought my test car from England quickly, and worked overnight (barbecue!) Thurs/Fri to have it ready. The pressure mounted.

@emmofittipaldi
Friday I was very tense,the car was not good.The whole team was very nervous,but the genius Colin Chapman improved the car for Saturday! #F1

Anyone noticed that they increased the length of the wall on the inside before turn 1?? Probably to prevent crashes like the one from Liuzzi we have seen last year at the start.

I thought that, but seeing as nobody reported it I thought I was just going mental!

Red Bull really not good this weekend. I know this is their weakest track, but even so, could struggle to even get in the points at this rate.

True. Opportunity for Alonso to further extend his lead.

Speed trap
http://www.formula1.com/results/season/ ... _trap.html

I wonder if Red Bull is trying their 2011 strategy of getting the gear ratios right for acceleration. Either way, I can't see it working.

They can't do anything with optimal acceleration if they're back in the pack
