All Italians riders, except Dovizioso, are out of the race. :(

Big crash for Rossi, must have lost it as soon as he touched the brakes

Looks like it was a rear suspension failure for Spies in the Corkscrew

Nowhere else do these bikes look as spectacular as they do going around Laguna, that's for sure.

It seems that many believe Rossi is returning to Yamaha next season.

Judging by his reaction to yesterday's crash, it doesn't surprise me.

The general consesus is that Rossi will go back to Yamaha, taking Malboro sponsorship with him as Yamaha cannot afford both his and Lorenzo's wages. Rossi will then essentially be a one bike Yamaha team.

Well Honda has the midgets for next season, so there's no other option really.

In what races is Malboro allowed to show their logo, can't be much I guess? And with Malboro going to Yamaha that must make the problems bigger at Ducati (since that still is their biggest sponsor), or Audi has to step in.

I'm not sure to be honest. We know Marlboro cannot show their logos but everyone knows they are still funding a team. As for Ducati, one has to wonder. Marlboro have been main sponsor since the first day they returned, but with them jumping ship I can almost see them turning their back on MotoGP in the next couple of years and refocussing on WSBK.

It'd probably be that livery that everyone associates with Marlboro most likely.

Yeah, if Rossi goes I can see Ducati leaving. I mean, they have Hayden for 2013 but they won the title with Stoner and no-one else can tame the bike, not even Rossi.

The bike is a pile of junk. The SPEED commentators made some good points about Ducatti during the telecast wherein basically nothing in that team works the way one would think it would work in a small outfit like Ducatti.

I sort of hope 2013 is their last season in MotoGP and they head back to WSBK with Hayden in tow. Don't get me wrong, I love the GP bikes, but Ducatti's current form is shameful for such a storied company.

Nice, but I still don't think it beats this one of Dani Pedrosa's crash while leading the German GP at the Sachsenring a few years back...

Looks like tomorrow is the day for Valentino. Ducati will confirm he's leaving, with a Yamaha press conference an hour afterwards.

Rossi is officially out of Ducati unconfirmed sources say he's signed for 2 years at Yamaha.

Edit: Its official he has signed for Yamaha. MotoGP's interest level has now jumped, it won't be a Spanish borefest, hopefully Rossi can challenge before retiring.

Don't know what to think about that. As a Rossi fan I want to see him get back fighting for the championship, but I also wanted to see him succeed at Ducati.

But Ducati needs to revamp their operation. They have a designer that has 1 vision and isn't really willing to change it, with the result that only 1 driver was able to master that bike.

No-one has been able to ride the Ducati except for Stoner. They'll pull out before long.

At least this means next year should be decent. Hopefully we'll get some excitement between the top four and have the likes of Bradl challenging too. Just a shame Casey is going, if he does...

I think Vale's decision was made in Laguna Seca. The bike was awful and his reaction to the crash was just so odd.

I don't think Loris Capirossi will agree with this statement, as it is totally wrong.

Stoner is the only person who was able to mount a title challenge on a Ducati, but both Capirossi and Troy Bayliss were competitive and fought at the front in races over a few years. Capirossi won many races, Bayliss took one win and multiple podiums.
