Looking to get a Euro satellite that would hook up to RTL. Anyone got any advice?

60cm dish, look around for freesat type digital receivers on ebay/carboots, NOT sky receivers as they are really bad for finding satellites with, Humax are far the best, but pretty expensive.

To tune the satellite, set the receiver to scan for a FTA frequency on 19E (lyngsat.com has them), position the satellite vertically, set the elevation (up/down, if the dish is offset, slightly lent back from vertical), point dish due South then turn towards East slowly, when you get a signal, you're done, bolt up the dish, go watch GP's.

We are not allowed dishes here, so I set my dish up everytime I want to use it a chair on the balcony, it's a 60cm so I'll get you some photo's of the elevation points, there's usually marks on the dish itself for setting this, this part is the easy bit, but if the dish was previously used for 19E, then you might not need to alter it.

Depending on where the tree's are & where your able to put a dish you may find just as much trouble getting 19.2e as you have with Sky.

For a cheap FTA setup that will easily get channels like RTL its sometimes worth looking in local Aldi or Lidl stores as they often have decent satellite packs for not a lot of cash.

This saturday Globo will begin to host a pre-show before the sessions. The show begins 20 minutes before the qualifying and it will be the same for the races. It's still short, but that's something for brazilians. :)

RDS shows only an 8-minute pre-qual show, but thankfully a 30-minute pre-race show :)

So, the new coverage announced by Globo is fairly promising. It was far from being perfect, but there is room for improvement.

Broadcasting here used to beginning around 5 or 10 minutes before the formation lap and for Monaco GP it began 25 minutes before. It is really good to see such an increase of the time for F1, specially in an year which brazilians aren't doing THAT good.

Unfortunately Mariana Becker and Luciano Burti seemed too lost on the grid for the pre-race show. It was basically both trying to get a word from Webber and some questions to Eric Clapton and Antonio Banderas while they were walking through the grid. Much good information was left behind and the show ended up being too shallow.

Another new feature was the addition of 9 exclusive cameras on their disposal. Globo broadcastings were always totally on world feed. However from these exclusive cameras, all we had today were the T-cams from Massa and Senna. I heard something of helmet cams, but apparently there was no sign of them anywhere today.

Apparently there is an effort to make the transmission less centered on the local drivers. But it won't work if the reporter on track needs the support from the commentator in the cabin to understand what is being said.

And there's also a camera into the commentators cabin that works as a support for the pre-race show and also for a post-race analysis instead of closing the transmission right after the podium ceremony.

Fortunately it was announced this new format is going to be kept until the end of the season. Hopefully it will get better and better. :)

I don't know whether it's due to problems in Monaco or here in Montréal/Toronto, but the picture was shit during qualifying and race broadcasts. Reds were too vivid and the TV overlays made the broadcast look like upscaled SD :o Nothing was as sharp and natural as it was during the Spanish GP for example.

Mind the jpeg compression. My source is 720p60 from component cable.

Please FOM be there next year !

TBH it is the kind of joke best saved for the pub, not a live broadcast, if Sky follow the norm, you'll have a different presenter in Canada and quiet rightly so.
That doesn't mean I don't think the comment is hilarious, but there's a time and a place for that black humour, Live at the Apollo yes, Live at Monaco err nope.

I hope he doesn't lose his job, because then we'll end up with Georgie presenting.

If FakeJake gets sacked for this comment, a convicted drunk driver with no knowledge of the sport gets made the main presenter of a motoring show, then there's something fucking wrong.

I doubt anyone who was watching was actually offended and I suspect the few people that are complaining are those that were watching the BBC...

The Ross/Brand incident all over again, people who didn't hear it kicking up a fuss about it just for the sake of having something to moan about. Typical Daily Fail reader mentality.

I think you need to look at the context, if your mother had died in those circumstances you'd probably want to punch his lights out too, he has to be sacked, not because of the comment, but because that's the precedent set previously by his employers in these circumstances.

He won't be sacked until another 'secret' video is found of him making inappropriate comments elsewhere.

Maybe something involving Breivik and the Utoya massacre.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

When will they learn to NOT go anywhere near the pool if they dont want to get thrown in it. DC and Eddie were lucky to get away with it this year

Just to confirm, Canadian GP is going to be shown on Speed in US really? Once again no Fox?
