Anything to kick Ragan out of the 6 ride.

Apparently the Woods have no control over who drives their car?
Jayski wrote:
Stenhouse could drive for Woods in 2012: Wood Brothers Racing co-owner Led Wood says a decision will be made in the next few weeks about whether Trevor Bayne will return to the legendary #21 Sprint Cup Series Ford next season, or be replaced by current Nationwide Series point leader Ricky Stenhouse. "If I had to say right now, I would say it would be that guy," said Wood, pointing to Bayne's name on the roof of the #21 Quick Lane Tire and Auto Ford Fusion in the garage at Chicagoland Speedway. "He's done an amazing job for us this season, and we'd love to have him back. But it's all up to Ford Motor Company and the sponsors." Wood said he expects to run a similar number of races next season, with "at least 12 and maybe as many as 18" events on the schedule. "If I tell you 12 (races) and it ends up being 18, that's great," he said. "Right now, though, I'll just say 12." He said a decision on who will steer the #21 Ford next season will be made by Ford Motor Company and Roush Fenway Racing, which whom the Woods have a longstanding technical alliance. "We'll probably have a conversation about that with (RFR President) Steve Newmark in the next couple of weeks," he said.

I'd rather it be Stenhouse tbh. Winning the Daytona 500 is fine and all but Ricky's been more impressive than Trevor overall so far.

Diet Mt. Dew replacing Amp on Earnhart, Jr's car: Four years after making waves in NASCAR by signing on as the primary sponsor of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Amp Energy is phasing its brand off the car of the sport's most popular driver. PepsiCo is expected to announce this week that Diet Mountain Dew will replace its Amp Energy brand as Earnhardt's primary sponsor for 16 races in 2012. The company has the primary sponsorship rights for 20 total races on the #88 car, and Amp will serve as an associate sponsor while also appearing on the hood for the other four races. The shift is a major downsizing in the sponsorship between Amp, an upstart energy drink, and Earnhardt, the sport's biggest driver. Pepsi, which owns Amp and Mountain Dew, has one year left on its contract with Earnhardt and Hendrick Motorsports, and the company's executives believe that Diet Mountain Dew, which is one of the fastest-growing soft drinks, stands to benefit more from Earnhardt than Amp. Pepsi and Hendrick Motorsports are expected this week to unveil a new paint scheme for the #88 car for next year's Daytona 500.(Sports Business Journal)(9-19-2011)

God I hope its an awesome scheme

+1 if he wants the design based on the Mountain Dew bike from the JetMoto games.

NASCAR RULE CHANGES FOR TALLADEGA RACE

1. Restrictor plate will increase 1/64 of an inch to 57/64. That's expected to give teams 7-10 more horsepower.

2. Pressure relief valve on the cars' coolilng system will be recalibrated to reduce the pressure by about 8 pounds per square inch. This should reduce amount of time one car can push anohter before the possiblity of overheating engine in the car doing the pushing.

Said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR's VP of competition: "After the last few superspeedway races, we've heard many drivers express their desire to open up the size of the restrictor plate and we thought the time was right to do that. We anticipate these revisons in the rules package for Talladega will help continue to provide competitive and exciting racing for the fans.''

Let's hope that's enough to take care of the tango.

Lovely.

And if that doesn't work, back to the drawing board for Daytona.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Two things can easily fix the tango, stop them putting vaseline on the bumpers, and make the bumpers for Daytona/Talladega non standard.

Job done :)

I'm glad they're making an effort to change the two car tango stuff.

I imagine they'll still try it when it comes down to the final few laps, but hopefully we'll have some pack racing at other times.

Hopefully the change will get it back to how it was in the 2010 plate races, where you saw a good mix of pack racing and occasional two car breakaways that would soon be sucked back into the pack. Looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.
