Probably, America might be America but I'm sure a lot of the Fan Zone/Security/Volunteer workers have working time regulations and required rest before working again.

Workers having rights in the USA? That’s a joke right?

Yea, that's the reason apparently. I feel for the fans, but also understand you can't expect workers to just keep on working late into the night

Dutch tv casually mentioning that Piff the magic dragon is performing in one of the casinos. Now that’s something I’d go to Vegas for :excited:

I can´t believe they are giving Sainz a grid penalty for this.
He has lots of damage which will cost the team, and he misses FP2 so he will have less time to learn a new track. And on top of that he will get a grid penalty. All because F1 couldn´t provide a safe track.

What the actual fuck is Toto on about here:

Firstly, if this had happened to a Mercedes there's absolutely no way you'd be saying this. And secondly, a 'fucking drain cover' isn't nothing. Sure it's happened before, it was dangerous then and it's dangerous now - it shouldn't really happen at any circuit. If you spend $500M on an event like this and then things get fucked up 9mins into FP1 you're going to get called out on it.

Was definitely a cranky Toto in that press conference.

I also imagine Ferraris Lawyers are getting geared up for compensation for the costs of repairing Sainzs car due to the loose drain cover. Precedence was set when HAAS won against the organisers of the Malaysian GP in 2017 when Grosjean crashed after hitting a drain cover.

Who are the organisers of this race? F1 themselves, so it could be interesting.

Just cancel the whole weekend, and Abu Dhabi as well.

That is just absolutely ridiculous. If ever there was cause for a driver boycott it is driving at thise absurd times.

You do know 24 hour races exist right? I'm sure these guys can handle it

And you do know that they specifically prepare for that and have multiple tests leading up to it. You also know that those cars are not F1 cars.

He's being a puppet for FOM. The entire F1 show is giving me hunger game vibes. The driver presentation was so weird. The Qatar race had drivers physical limits tested beyond necessity, while Coulthard who's associated with FOM praised them for their toughness afterwards.

No one shits on F1 for falling short anymore.

As Juihi said these guys have specifically prepared for this too - this is only a couple of hours later than scheduled. They might have to do the same tomorrow night if there are any red flags in quali which they would have prepared for. 24 hour races are also full of drivers who are much, much less fit than F1 drivers

This will only really change if the drivers take some sort of action and stamp their feet on the floor. As much as the teams moan, they'll still bend over to Liberty.

At least the delays meant that Sainz has his car repaired before FP2.

Drivers are keeping the cars on the track. No surprise at this level.

I'm getting some Dallas 1984 vibes from this track.

When they interviewed Zak on the pit wall about Sainz's grid penalty he mentioned something about it not being sporting to apply the penalty, and he doesn't know who was against it but probably someone close to Ferrari on points. When Ferrari requested clemency was it put to a teams vote with only unanimity granting their request, and one team voted against? And if so, how likely is is it the nay was Toto, somewhere between certain and no shit Sherlock?

It just looks like Singapore with a bit more neon.
