Not even the TV broadcasts have any hope. NBC is rerunning golf, Sport1 in Germany is showing baseball, SportTV in Portugal has the Porsche Supercup and Viaplay showed a static shot of the track and gave up after about a minute.

EVENING FOR NORTHEASTERN COOK COUNTY...

At 358 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued to
indicate heavy rainfall across the warned area. Widespread rainfall
amounts between 2 and 6 inches of have been observed, with isolated
amounts near 8 inches. Automated gauges indicate rainfall rates
remain near 1 inch per hour, particularly from near downtown
Chicago, southwest towards Midway Airport. Additional rainfall
amounts up to 3 inches are possible in the warned area, which will
result in renewed and exacerbated flash flood impacts including
widespread roadway, underpass, and basement flooding.

HAZARD...Significant flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset, significant flooding of creeks, streams,
drainage ditches, low-lying areas, and poor drainage
areas. Widespread street and underpass flooding.
Possible flooding of structures. Possible flooding of
highways.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Chicago, Cicero, Evanston, Skokie, Des Plaines, Oak Lawn, Berwyn,
Oak Park, Ohare Airport, Park Ridge, Niles, Austin, South
Lawndale, Irving Park, West Town, Midway Airport, Lincoln Park,
Bridgeport, Lake View and Chicago Loop.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life
and property.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

with the luck that nascar has, they could do a indoor race in a nfl / mlb stadium where the roof breaks and the stadium/arena has the entire lower bowl flooded

jokes aside, they should at least have some tests on an airfield or something to see the tollerance or setups for wet weather

or race in an airport like Cart did so well
