Ocon officially promoted to P3 after a 3-place penalty for Leclerc. That for me was the standout performance of qualifying.

I somehow sense Fernando isn't getting past T1 8O

Really thought Alonso had that. Don't know where the fuck Max is getting that time in the last sector

it looked like he might've held back a little in the first sector so he'd have more tire for pushing in the final sector. he was doing it in some of his previous runs, and i think lewis might've been doing that as well on his runs. they'd be down on time in the first sector, personal best in the mid, and then picking up chunks of time coming to the line

Lewis did radio to say "tyres weren't ready" before his final run, so maybe it was the case Monaco is just too short a lap for them to get their tyres fully up to temp (hence Merc and a few others doing 2 fast laps before changing tyres) and they only "come in" on the last sector

Or maybe Max learnt the secret that pinballing your way down the barriers is the secret to the fastest time and kept it to himself until the final lap

A few weather forecasts are predicting some light rain at various times (usually before or after the race). I don't know which weather sites are most accurate for Monaco, but we can hope...

I'm always using Ventusky for my local weather and looks like there could be rain before Porsche race and then over the mountains during the F1 race

Watching F2 now and I can't see it, looks like a standard sunny May day

Initially I thought he gained it all in the second swimming pool (that looked absolutely insane on TV :8: ). He did gain there, but from interviews with Alonso, and the live gap comparison, it appears that Alonso is also abnormally slow in La Rascasse and he's aware of the car limitation there

This. I'm not a Red Bull or Verstappen fan, but for once some other drivers piled the pressure on and Max delivered one of the best laps anybody has done in a while.

There's been plenty of times in the dominant car eras where the driver in the best car still puts in a special lap to take pole, like Lewis at Austria in the wet that time, or Singapore I think too
Schumacher had a few as well, as despite the Ferrari being the overall best package, Montoya and the Williams were usually quicker over one lap and MS had to pull out something special to overhaul it

That was one of those laps, probably wouldn't get as much credit as if it was Alonso or especially Ocon taking pole, but it was still special.

Rain chaos, wrecks and drying conditions. Teams gambling. Williams and Alexander Albon wins.

Doubt it will hit before the end of the race.

It might actually even dissappear before it arrives in Monaco.

Probably be one of those races where you see the sky getting darker and darker, but nothing ever happens.

Watching Perez come through the field might be worth watching. Really hope that Alonso can get ahead into the first corner. Then we might get a race.
