Well, it's still close, but not the kind of surprise results I was hoping for.

Looks like Red Bull are the new king of sandbags, maybe they were holding back for the good of the sport.

Not even remotely close. Red Bull obviously holding back.

From what I gather from the teams and drivers is that Red Bull will run away with it and Ferrari, Merc and Alonso will fight for P3.

SC's could spice things up.

No real surprises in qualifying then and I don't expect much of a surprise on Sunday either. Red Bull will likely be even better in race trim and tire deg. Ferrari will be the opposite and likely regress back towards Mercedes, leaving the door open for Alonso to snag a podium. Let's see if Aston can capitalize on their early season competitiveness because I'm still not convinced they'll remain this close to Ferrari and Mercedes once the top teams start introducing upgrade packages. That's not a bad thing though as their target was to be at the head of the midfield this season, which I expect they should remain in the mix for all season.

Sky Germany showed that Stroll has had the steering rack changed overnight, which probably helped. I'm still surprised to see him anywhere near Alonso, but I guess he will get the nice shiny parts...

Let's hope that Red Bull discover their car eats tyres, or that Checo upsets Max by keeping up with him. Otherwise, let's hope the director lets us watch the actual race behind them.

And apparently the wardrobe and makeup process at Sky F1 involves a healthy application of baby oil

Leclerc already has to dip in his engine pool.

If Lewis retires Norris and leclerc will fight to the death for that seat
