I'm unhappy that the laziest and weight-savingest livery looks so good

Sure hope they figure out something with the rules to stop the bare carbon-fest and force the teams to put some paint on the cars again.

I honestly can't work out why there is any black paint on it at all. I wonder if certain sponsors didn't want a bare carbon background? Otherwise, why bother?

At least we can now very clearly see how they layer carbon fibre.

the only solution is ditching the heavy powertrains and putting gas guzzling naturally aspirated V10s but of course they'll say is bad for their ESG goals but I guess they don't know there's a new technology called e-fuels, they could head into that direction

but they did a brilliant job with the livery, the teal stripes are neat

E-fuels are a bit of a pointless endeavour in the long term - sure, making petrol from hydrogen and captured CO2 is a much better idea than digging hydrocarbons out of the ground (assuming it is done cleanly), but doing it at scale is not as efficient a use of the hydrogen as it would be for fuel cells, for example.

It could definitely be a short-term fix for F1, but can you imagine the FIA and teams managing to strike up an agreement to produce clean hydrogen and CO2 capture?

I'm quite sure one of the teams will find something the others don't know and leapfrog everybody just on the fuel

Not the largest venue by any means, but the Bahrain main grandstand is sold out :8:

if you see a bunch of westerners "cheering" during some DRS overtake you bet they didn't paid to be there

I actually rate the Bahrain GP as one of the best races of the year, it's given us some amazing racing since it became a night race

Renault went from being called Renault and racing in Renault Colors via being called Alpine, racing in pink, losing their star driver, losing their prospect driver, hiring a female driver whos famouse for looking good, failing in DTM and almost getting killed in Macau to employing a retired footballer famouse for headbutting people in the belly and I can't take them serious any more.

Nah, was more referring to not racing in Renault or even Alpine colors. Imho a werks team should have some reference to the brand. I could moan about mercedes, too, I guess but black just isn't so aggressively different of a color.

My bad, that's a fair point.

On the contrary, an unpainted Mercedes is very much on-brand.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Worst thing is Alpine just look like Force India did, like a mirror copy, I never see them and think Alpine. Always think it's the old indian team. There's even Ocon driving it.

actually they're still on par with their branding, given the team is legally called Mercedes-AMG and AMG itself has their top line of cars called Black Series
