I think this is just a bit of damage control by Ferrari because where there's smoke...

Quote:
Ferrari dismissed media reports in Italy on Tuesday that Formula One team boss Mattia Binotto was set to be replaced by Sauber's Frederic Vasseur at the end of the season and said they were "totally without foundation."

The Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport newspapers had suggested Frenchman Vasseur was being lined up to take over in January.

"In relation to speculation in certain media regarding Scuderia Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto's position, Ferrari states that these rumours are totally without foundation," the team said in a statement.

Yup, I think they scrambled to put out a press release just to keep the embarrassment and spotlight off Binotto in Abu Dhabi, until they're ready to announce it officially.

Sure it's his fault that the team can't put the right tyres on :whistling:

Well he would be responsible for putting in charge someone who's job it would be to oversee trackside operations. If he hired a muppet to do it, then yes, it would be his fault........And I haven't even gotten into the whole race strategy side of things, which again, he would be responsible for putting someone into that position. Or even creating that position, cause sure seems like they don't have one at times.

Ferrari's past manager's revolving door hasn't exactly led them to success, has it? If they're going to fire anyone it should be Inaki Rueda, that guy shouldn't be tasked with strategising anything bigger than a shopping list.

Ferrari were unbeatable when they hired the best people of the world to run the team, and have been struggeling since they only hired the best Italians.

Go to the three minute mark of this video. Alpine didn't even fulfil their obligation to Piastri for this binding contract that they tried to assassinate his character over.

Didn't offer him a contract, gave him the run around for months, didn't want him in their own team, struck a deal to loan him out to McLaren as a reserve driver, knew that he was leaving for McLaren for over a month, tried to publicly claim his services without a contract, dragged his name through the mud every chance they could get....DIDN'T actually honour the very contract that they were trying to hold him to??????

And people are STILL calling Piastri a snake that they hope fails hard and is useless.....while Alpine are claiming that they had 882 very nasty responses about their team, and haven't said a peep about the tremendous amount of hate that they let get thrown at Oscar for months on end, and is still being directed at him.

Italians have form at not being able to run things properly

I understand that nationality/culture is always the easy simplistic explanation to anything, but there are much more important factors than that.

Hiring diverse teams, or even having the best individual employees in the world, still will never help bad management yield good results. I've seen failures blamed on the exact opposite situation, having diverse teams. As if the team members' passports will solve your shitty processes and the spineless, headless leadership.

Ferrari is poorly managed. There are good managers in Italy, or it wouldn't be nearly the industrial power it is, but they're not at Ferrari.

And Hulkenberg is now confirmed. I must admit I have mixed feels as I like Nico, but kinda not sure he'll achieve anything at Haas and would if not Schumacher then at least some other driver who has been sitting on the side lines getting the seat

Schumacher's CV will always say he was an F3 and F2 champion, but as someone that watched all 4 of those campaigns, he wasn't actually very convincing. They were more of a case of, well SOMEONE had to win them. But credit where credit is due, he did win them, but he has been found out at the top level that he isn't really anything special. Still better than Stroll though.

I am in the same boat as Juihi.I like Hulk, but would much rather see someone else have a go. Who? I don't know. And that is probably why they have gone Hulk. No one is really knocking the door down, and Nico will bring it home there or there abouts more often than not. But long term? No, he isn't the answer.
