I was once present in the European Grand Prix at Nürburgring and there German national anthem was played as well as Ode to Joy.

I remember also hearing Eurovision theme from TV feed on another occasion.

For of the Styrian GP, they played a different anthem than for the Austrian GP. I guess something of that region.

So.... word on the street, or rather from some anti-trust authorities, is that Porsche will take a 50% stake in Red Bull Racing.

It's summer vacation and everything is slow, so let's light this damn place on fire:

Do you guys pronounce it "Porscheeeu" or "Porsch" ?

I think I might be part of the worst crowd: I use the second option in the middle of a perfectly enunciated English sentence, then also shamelessly blame the French accent for it.

Porscheeeu is closer, but still not right.
I think for English speakers to pronounce it right they'd have to read it as Porsheh or Porshey.
The e at the end of Porsche is NOT silent and is pronounced like the e in memory.
Porsch is just wroooooong.

I’ve never heard anybody pronounce it any different to “ Porsch”.

Vettel is giving a lot of hints about retirement. He's opened an Instagram, which he said he'd never do while in F1 and his story points to something happening at 13:00.

He's gonna retire on 299 race starts and 300 entries. The one he didn't start was Bahrain when the Ferrari blew up :(

It's sad he's ending his career driving a P.O.S that's barely able to make it out of Q3

As did Raikkonen, Button, Alonso (before he came back).
Apart from Hamilton who is still racing, and Rosberg, not many champions of the last 30 years ended their career on a high.

I still think Hill had the saddest retirement - couldn't make his mind up and clearly stayed longer than he should have.

Prost and Rosberg are the only ones that ended truly on a high.

Sad news. He had become one of the most likeable guys on the grid. I had hoped he would have at least one more season with a more competitive car.

Seemed inevitable.

Wonder who will get the second seat at AM. Or better said, who would want the second seat at AM. Stroll Sr. seemed to have made it a pretty toxic environment.
Schumacher maybe? Or would he stick to Haas/Ferrari? IIRC he is the only one that is actually without a contract for 2023.
Gasly is pretty much locked. Ricciardo is locked (unless gets canned). Ocon seems locked in too.
Maybe bring in Hulkenberg?

If they end up with a rookie it will only hurt them further.

I don't expect Hulkenberg to come back full season.
If Williams kick out Latifi for Piastri, maybe he will search for another team that wants his money.

it'll be between Ferrucci and Ticktum. Strulovich needs someone less likeable than his son to make him look good

Sad to see him go. Vettel grew so much that it's difficult to believe that the lovable man of today used to be the annoying kid not long ago.

Hopefully he remains involved, motorsports need people like him for the future.
