DRS was disappointingly powerful, but nice to see another on track battle for the lead. I wonder if Max will lose his lead off the line again tomorrow.

Good to see Mercedes getting a reality check.

Horrible luck for Russell though as it's his first year there.

The longer a team dominates, the bigger the risk it's going to decline just as you finally are allowed to join. Mercedes completely focused on last years title imo even though they said they stopped development for that car early. Seems bullshit to me as that car kept getting faster and faster in the final races. They are paying the price now. That's why toto is still talking about Masi, they gambled everything on last year's title and lost.

Massive rain clouds heading to north-east, but I think they will miss the track. Very difficult to predict if it rains during the race or not.

Update (11:27 CET):
Definitely going to rain in an hour

That is some tasty radar action.

Only the Arpege model predicted this and looks like they were right. :8:

It'll be dry by 2pm if there's no further rain

Even if it does stop, it'll be a damp track

So all the paint stripping that’s going on, does anybody know how much time in reality this is going to gain or how much weight is saved?

For sure but it will be slicks until the finish once it's dry.
Would have been more fun if it rained again.

Why dry the track?

Err, those rain clouds from Pisa are coming. I'd say in 1,5h. Let's hope they can start the race, otherwise we have infinite delays again.

That's optimistic, that rain is easily 3 hours away.

Before Porsche race I expected rain in an hour, and it took 30 minutes. So I was pessimistic.

Looks perfect atm. Rain probably arrives 20 minutes after the start, increasingly gradually. So no delays and no immediate red flag.

So they can delay the start until it's fully dry and red flag it when 1 drop of rain falls again

I'm not believing in any rain until I see a race actually take place in the wet :P
