With the new generation of Drive to Survive fans in the US, F1 should really take this opportunity to make up the races that have been cancelled in the US... just what tracks would be suitable for F1 remains a questions

it's always been an issue having the giant off season as the series is out of mind for so long

The overly-long offseason is a different problem. If Indycar were to add an extra race in March and two in October, it would shorten the offseason but make no difference to the perception of the mid-season schedule.

Just want teams to be able to understand their product and be able to iron out the issues before the first race. With so few testing days now, it kinda seem that you get stuck with what you got out of the factory.

Yea, I agree the stuck with what you got problem is an issue, they just need to add some more test days I guess

Apparently Texas is having a COVID outbreak presently too so might not get a chance to even host a race.

The Indy Road Course is the only other grade 1 circuit in the USA (except for Miami which obviously hasn't been completed).

I'd love to see them race at Road America, even with the chicane before the kink. FOM make it happen! Alternatively Watkins Glen.

I wouldn't mind seeing F1 back at Indy. The original layout was a bit meh towards the end but the races weren't the worst. The IndyCar layout looks much better too.

It's more a question of whether Indy fans would want F1 back there :innocent:

I doubt we´re even going to the American continent at all. It´s not impossible, but I´ll believe it when Friday practice starts.

And to make it more interesting, they have to put back the exact same curb that was used during last weekends nascar race :lol:

It's not bad, but when you have tracks like road America and Indianapolis in the same country it's a huge shame they race on COTA instead of one of those classic tracks

It's unashamedly a frankenstien of about 5 other race tracks and wears that on its sleeve, but that doesn't make it BAD in my eyes.

Races tend to skew towards the exciting there instead of just a parade too, can't really ever remember an out and out dull race there *shrug*

Yeah, I'd love to see Road America, Laguna Seca or Watkins Glen, but yeah also would fear how those circuits would be changed forever for the worse just for one F1 race (and if they're still doing the "no other high horsepower single seater series may race at your track if you sign with us" clause, that'd kill one of the tracks for Indycar too...) but realistically, I'm glad they built COTA instead
