this article was written by the councilwoman who voted against the approval. the rest of the council felt these issues would be mitigated enough to vote their approval. that said, formula 1 is definitely elitist, predominantly white, and it's debatable whether any revenue will benefit the local community in any direct way. her being someone who has very little knowledge about motorsport, i can empathize with her scepticism. hopefully, she will change her mind and her concerns will be mitigated once the event actually takes place

Meh. No problem with two US races, but they could have chosen a more interesting track.

The only other track in the USA with Grade 1 is IMS and that would become the smallest track on the calendar except for Monaco.

Doesn't COTA seem to throw up a good race 50% of the time? If so, then the odds would at least be better.

Mazepin might have to take a break from his career. His father just told he has 1 year of mandatory military service pending and the Russian government isn't willing to clear him from his duties. If this stands, he has to do his duties until he is 27. He is 23 now.
