Vettel a bit annoyed that Mazepin went past everyone before the last corner instead of following them and then binned it in T1.

Finally, we might get a season we actually want to watch rather than just feeling obliged to

The more things change, the more things say the same

Vettel will always be blown away by a younger teammate (and considering this year's is Lance Stroll, that's really gonna trash his legacy somewhat. He'd be better off retiring after 2020 than losing out to Lance considering Lance is trash, surely no matter how much Aston Martin are paying, nothing can compensate for that?)

The Red Bull number 2 will always absorb all the bad luck for the team. (OR Red Bull are 1990s Bennetton and it's finally proven that they can only run 1 car compettively. If we get a championship run out of Max while Perez has the same shit as the past 5 or so red bull no. 2, then surely it's the final proof we need that it's not the drivers but the car)

Also, Alonso was in that qualy. Did anyone notice? Not exactly the storming comeback he probably wanted. Did he not get on with Cyril, got him moved off the F1 team and there went their uptick in performance with him? Ouch.....

Well with Vettel, there was a strong opinion that he was only winning because of Red Bull. I always thought that was crap, he was a really really good driver, but man, its like 2017 broke him and now he seems to be slipping into Villeneuve mode, tarnishing his reputation and giving ammunition to the "he only won because of Red Bull" talk.

He seems to be a man just going through the motions.

Dan saw this coming and jumped ship. Well not Cyril leaving obviously, but he saw that they weren't going to progress forward.

Alonso is a conniving operator but I hardly think that he has the power to get Cyril completely removed/fired from the Renault Group. Maybe placed in a dealership in Siberia lol. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a medical/family issue causing Cyril to abruptly leave.

Also it's weird going into a race knowing there'll be a 100% safety car by about lap 15

That's my bet anyway, if Mazepin survives turn 1 (big if) then he's gonna bring out a SC at some point, only question is when

Alonso P9 is pretty good performance imo. Can’t see how he had any influence on the car/engine package which clearly hasn’t improved as much as the other midfield cars.
