Interesting read

Felipe Nasr (and one of his mechanics) has accused Sauber of sabotaging his car to make Marcus Ericsson look better. It essentially ruined his F1 career.

The irony of the whole thing was that he scored the teams only points that year.

*Stares in Jos Verstappen/Johnny Herbert*

More seriously, that is a pretty damning interview and you would assume the people involved would have their lawyers deployed pretty quickly if it was just lies. It shows how far the team fell after Peter Sauber left.

But my most favorite sabotage story was definitely Michael Andretti saying that McLaren were deliberately screwing around with his traction control system to make him look shit. Rather than you know....he was just so out of his depth and was flying in and out of America and didn't commit himself.

I always thought Michael Andretti's issue stemmed from him being an overly aggressive driver. Yes he was quick but seemed to be very harsh on the equipment as I remember him having frequent mechanical failures and accidents in his CART days. You might get away with an aggressive style in Indycar but F1 requires a finesse which maybe he just couldn't muster.

Oh and in regards to Imola. Are they going to use the "new" layout that by passes the old last chicane? If so do they have SAFER barriers on the outside of the corner? as opposed to the solid concrete wall in this classic crash.

There's been a SAFER barrier there for a while now.

Following a well-trodden path, Hamilton has progressed from veganism to anti-vaxxer crankery.

Yes, and this proves Bill Gates really installs microchips into humans.

Yeah I was ready to give up on him too, but I'm glad he clarified he was worried about the side effects of a non-existant and may well never exist theoretical vaccine and not all vaccines all the time lol

Not everything he posts is gonna be 100% right, expecting anyone to be perfect especially in the public eye is unrealistic.

Just....put the phone down occasionally Lewis... :slaphead:

It's ironic that a Verstappen was the one that got the rough treatment in favour of the new wunderkind and now any driver that races against the Verstappen in the field gets the same treatment. Jos must be very conflicted. Or not, because it's his kid.

Also makes me wonder why Vettel, who expects this treatment, wants to throw himself into a team where he's gonna get shafted in favour of daddies boy. That relationship won't end well, no doubt.

Jos isn't conflicted at all. He knows full well what happened to him and both he (and Vermeulen, Max's manager) have set out to make sure the same thing will not happen to Max.

some pundits are sharing the opinion that with the FIA ineptude to look out for rule breaches and so is quite possible that more teams could go the Tracing Point way and just copy Mercedes design to have a cheaper way into the success and slowly turning F1 into a "Formula Mercedes". How feasible could that get?

And thus, the most expensive single make championship is born

F1 better find something unique like opening up the rules to fossil fuel free engines or something pretty soon, because it's rapidly losing its USP

I still having a hard time believing a team could so easily copy a design from pictures. Important details will go lost because of paintjob, angle and just being a 2D picture.

If it was that easy I still think it would have happened a lot sooner and even RBR and Ferrari would walk that route.

I'll gladly be proven wrong but until then, I say its impossible to do so.

^ Not to mention that pics don't reveal what is under and inside the bodywork.

I find this entire ordeal (whining and protests) about "copying" pretty comical. It is not like this is the first time in the history of F1 that teams have copied each other. It almost seems like what irritates some bigger teams (that seem to be forever stuck in the mid-field, cough Renault, who lodged at least one of the protests) is that it was a mid-fielder who did this and thus it instantly jumped from the mid-field to the front.
