I've watched the rest of that race now.

It's clear almost from the start that Dallenbach cannot stand Weber and even the all american, professional presentation veneer cannot hide this for much of the race, with poor Jan Beekis in the middle like a divorced child whose parents are still fighting

Weber also seems to have done no research on Champcar at all. Dallenbach cares, he has a family legacy in the sport and obv raced in it for a while, but Weber cannot give less of a shit.

Still, nice race, I wish this track would've come back. It certainly would've been a lot more appropriate for and indycar race in las vegas than...
Well, lets not go there....

Now on Indycar: the 2006 San Jose Grand Prix. AKA the one where PT and Tags go at it behind the wall.

53:30 onwards for the 'incident' and 55:00 on for the 'incident analysis' :D

Bonehead move from PT, to be honest.

Oh it's THAT one

I thought it was the initial race where, aside from the gifworthy start where the cars bounced over the tram tracks, nothing of note happened bar a couple of scrapes down a wall.

That track wasn't bad in the end, without that stupid chicane they added in year 1

is October 31st once again, a day to remember one of the most daring and talented drivers we ever had the opportunity to see. A day to pay tribute to the light blue Player's ride, driven by the young star wearing red gloves

RIP Greg, we'll never forget

Nice to get a high quality upload of this one. Gonna quote myself from way back on page 1 of this thread:
Quote:
One of my favorite races, because it's so positively batshit insane, is the 1996 CART race at Road America. The start crash, Greg Moore's wild ride followed by Davy Jones flipping under caution, Christian Fittipaldi sitting on the fence, the Pac West guys crashing each other out in spectacular fashion, Robby Gordon having the most Robby Gordon day possible and taking a cheap shot at Ford, and of course the "what the fuck just happened???" final lap.

That was a fun race. If Eddie Cheever hadn't happened, we'd all be talking about Marco Andretti as a THREE time Indycar race winner!

Yeah great race

Personally I'll NEVER be able to get over how ugly those cars are, or the feelings I had for that half of the split at the time, but I guess it's a good thing I get to watch it again with less bitter eyes. :whistling:

I always thought the Panoz/G-Force looked much nicer than the Dallara, primarily because of how fuckin' ugly the nose of the Dallara was.

Marty Reid and Scott Goodyear both sound a bit drunk.

Also, I forgot that they still used a sequential shifter back in those days unlike paddle shifter these days.
