Also, as a total aside, Duke have just announced they're re-releasing the old F1 season reviews up to 2009 on DVD

I wonder if these will be a straight rip from VHS or if they will have any added stuff?

If Duke's past history is anything to go by, these will be straight rips from VHS. Pretty sure reviews from 2003 onward were already on DVD.

2000 and 2001 were made for a dvd that was supplied with a couple of dire ps2 f1 game.

They had way more footage than you'd get these days as they basically were user directed with all the additional angles, onboards and data from the f1digital footage.

They're a lot better than the accompanying vhs review so i hope its those they go with

I have both of those somewhere but they weren’t Duke.

I've got a few VHS reviews: 85, 91, 92, 96, 97, 00 and 02. I put them all on DVD.

85 is great because the drivers do the race reviews. 97 I've always enjoyed because it uses Digital TV footage. Other worth watching if you haven't seen them yet are 82 and 84 because Clive James is presenter. 89 is good plus long with Tony Jardine and Sterling Moss as the presenters.

Knowing Duke they'll have to buy back a VHS copy first because they probably lost the master D3.

I have access to torrents and that Reddit classic f1 stream that repeats full races from 1970s-2015 :whistling:

Owning physical media is so old fashioned mannnnn

Duke mistakenly shipped me 2 of the 2016 review BluRays, ones on the way to you just so you can’t make that claim anymore. Suck on that!

Clive James was great. I wasn't so keen on the drivers narrating the 1985 review, though. Mansell and Senna are amazing to watch, but less so to listen to as commentators.

I'd forgotten how good Jardine was as well. What happened to him after ITV?

Apparently he does the Bein Sports coverage, and used to own his own PR company - not sure if he's still involved. His wife was involved in a pretty horrific road accident a few years ago so I imagine he spends time looking after her these days

Some of the reviews haven't aged well tbh. There is a pretty awkward moment in one of them (87 or 88, I think) where Jardine is a bit racist. The 83 one with Brian Kriesky "narrating" is appalling
