If there's laundering, it makes their job even more amazing, given they get their results with less budget than we think they have.

If any race team wants to subsidize it's cash flow for race activities then Vic Lee may have some ideas.

lol, at least they value having decent established drivers unlike Williams

Quote:
McLaren has tabled a huge offer to Daniel Ricciardo in a bid to lure him away from Red Bull, according to a German media report.

Ricciardo is currently weighing up his options for next season with the Australian out of contract at the end of 2018.

Red Bull has made it clear that it wishes to retain the driver although the Monaco Grand Prix winner has been linked to moves to rivals Mercedes and Ferrari, who could have seats available.

However, Sports Bild is reporting that McLaren has tabled a $20 million-per-year deal in bid to secure Ricciardo in move that would more than triple the Perth driver’s current salary at Red Bull.

McLaren has emerged as a potential home for Ricciardo with the future surrounding Fernando Alonso at the Woking squad uncertain.

IMHO this means Alonso is gone next year.
Only reason they would want Daniel is because of his experience. But frankly I would take on Vandoorne and Norris and use the rest of the money for good staff and development

You can't develop with rookies. The driver's pay is a small fraction of the total investment

Or, if you want return on investment without experience, take Leclerc for a year loan from Ferrari? In addition to being fast, the kid seems like he knows how a racecar works. He went from looking like a noob in the Sauber to driving it up the points regularly

Vandoorne will start his 3rd season next year. Not really a rookie anymore.
Even if they want more experience there are cheaper options that will get the job done. Lets not pretend that Daniel suddenly will take them to championship contenders.

some journalists defend that Ricciardo should go to Renault and try to succeed there while Sainz go for his place in Red Bull

Now that the rumour mill is unjammed, it's also being reported that Ferrari are leaning towards replacing Kimi with Leclerc for 2019. Seems like a smart choice.

Danny's been pretty consistent in saying his primary objective in future contract talks is the ability to fight for a championship. I don't see him seriously considering anything other than Ferrari or Merc, or staying at RB in the absence of those 2 options. That doesn't mean he won't try and use other offers to increase his value with RB.

Apparently Daniel said there was some appeal to going to mclaren or Renault and built up a team around him like Hamilton did.
Still don’t see him doing it Hamilton at least had a title under his belt.

So both Mercedes drivers are expected to stay in 2019, Ferrari has his replacement for Kimi booked, Red Bull's days at the front will be over next year. Seems that Ricciardo will need to settle for less and take a step back to a midfield team.

Why would Red Bull days be over? They probably know a lot more than us. You really think they would opt for much lesser engines if they could at least stick with Renault?

I expect the engines to be on par with Renault at least and that would make Red Bull still the #3 team If they can score wins is to be seen but I wouldnt be too shocked.

I just read there is now a museum dedicated to Michael Schumacher.

Speaking of which, has there been any updates on his condition?
