So that's at least another two overlays for what will be sold in a hopeful tone as 'in-race entertainment', alongside the sponsored replays and the sponsored 'hot lap'.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Hopefully this sort of thing will be contained to this gimmick nonsense, or else we'll end up with:

Quote:
"And Sebastian Vettel takes the checkered flag brought to you by UBS! And now, the celebratory post-finish radio message, powered by Claro: "Es simples, es Claro!"

pretty sure they'll come up with "Champagne spray presented by Carbon", after the "Trophy awards presented by Rolex", all that after "National anthems presented by Pirelli"

I remember Bernie dissing Juan Montoya when he first came to F1, for doing the American "thanking all the sponsors" speech during every interview.

ESPN have done a deal to include Sky's pre-race show on ESPN2 (At 12:30am ET this weekend) under the program title 'On The grid'. No word on post race content.

So there was a way to log into the F1TV Beta site earlier tonight (has been down again since then)

The quality of the old races was great. Not every race of every season is there, but the races that have been uploaded are there in full - and without commentary. Not even Murray Walker.
The recent seasons contained only a few full races and mainly highlights. The full races that are available come with different audiotracks. Some with natural sounds only, and some with different languages to chose from.

Maybe explains why they want to add more zones this year.

And this shows what each region will get in terms of F1TV.

Can anyone confirm the name of the Ferrari power unit is 062 EVO or was that the name of the test unit? Also, does the Red Bull power unit have a name beyond just 'Tag Heuer'?

1981 British GP? Damnnn it goes back far

If only those races came with onboard feeds

Wait...if only they had live on-boards back then

They did, we just didn't see it because it only worked for 100 yards every lap the car passed the main grandstand lol (well around that time they started work on cameras, may not have been 81 exactly).

Whereas NASCAR had live onboards (called "Race Cam") from 1979! (albeit a much bigger bulkier unit)

The early problem with the F1 cams, other than size, was someone had to go up on the roof of the highest building nearest the track and manually point an early parabolic antenna at whatever car was carrying the camera, and they often forgot who had the camera or got told to get off the roof by the local plod, and only then did the system work maybe 5% of the time. All because Bernie didn't see the point of an onboard camera and wouldn't let them use the TV helicopters, when he realised his error, he bunged the people who built the system a wad of money for their company and banned them from the tracks lol
