They hide splits for the drivers in WRC, and IIRC the teams are not allowed to radio them how they are doing.

just a random halo rant, watching this video i suddenly realized how shitty onboard cams look now, i hope they move the camera somewhere else on the car ( hopefully an helmet cam finally ) cause this is honestly pathetic.

Unfortunately the view from the over the shoulder cam is quite poor as well

What's the problem? You can see everything that happens, it's not like you'll miss anything.

For the T-Cam I agree, You still have a good view of the track ahead & can still see the driver/wheel so I don't think it really has much of an impact on it.

The over the shoulder camera is more of an issue but the shot from the Red Bull that Echti posted isn't too bad.

This shot on Vettel's Ferrari however.....

I think a Helmet camera would be pointless unless they could get one inside the helmet (Like the Champcar Visor-Cam) because I think a camera mounted at the top of the Helmet like what Indycar have or like what FOM were using a few years ago would be totally blocked by the Halo.

Agreed, downloading the on-board feed used to be my post-race ritual on the monday or tuesday so I loved on-board angles so much I'd go to great lengths to see them

Now it's another casualty of the diminishing returns you get for following the sport for year after year :slaphead:

the same problem that one would have with this picture:

it's not that you can't see the girls sunbathing or how beautiful the beach is, but somehow it's not something you would show to your parents to tell them how nice your holydays have been

i mean
Spoiler:
that blue tent back on the right is really ruining the whole shot

McLaren's Halo will be sponsored by Gandys who are apparently a Flip-Flop manufacturer.

Wait....... McLaren have a sponsor  One to go nicely with Fernando's beach chair :p

New graphics....

[tweet]https://twitter.com/VanGamerenF1/status/974579942947262465[/tweet]

Also regarding the OTT service:

Quote:
1. F1 TV Access (availability varies by market)
Keep up with all the key stats, including live timing data, driver tracker maps and tyre usage. Relive the action with full race replays, and the historic F1 race archive. Please note, some countries may not have access to replays until next year. More information on this will follow as we’re still working through this.

Q: How many different devices will I be able to log into at the same time?
A: Three. You will be able to manage your devices in the My Account section on Formula1.com.

Q: How many video streams will I be able to watch at the same time?
A: One. You will only be able to watch one video stream on one of your devices, while you keep track of key stats like live timing and tyre info on others. Picture in picture will be classed as one stream.

Q: How will I pay for F1 TV?
A: You will be able to pay using any of the major credit cards. In order to authenticate the country in which you live, both your IP stream and credit card address will have to match an authorized F1 TV market.

Yeah, that seems unnecessarily dramatic. The intention is clearly to grab people's interests in crashes and other incidents.

I think they work well on a social media video previewing the race, But for the World-Feed/OnBoard feed i'm not sure I like it as much. For that i'd rather something similar to what we had before which also includes revs, Throttle & brake data.

Also the more I see of the new font the less I like it, Not simply because I don't like the style (Although I'm not keen of it) but mainly because for some reason I find it rather difficult to read, Especially some of the lower case letters (The a's for instance).

Try harder F1

If I could watch 3 onboards, a track cam and the broadcast feed on Champcar race director in freaking 2004, you can manage more than one stream at a time in freaking 2018

And on internet speeds way slower than what we have today on PC's less powerful than your average tablet device of today.

Shame that service wasn't picked up by Indycar after re-unifaction.

I'm not sure if it's the Liberty influence, but several team are increasingly showing their sense of humour, and I'm all for it.
