I thought it was to stop the cameras being nicked Even if they used the most basic cameras, that's £50k for the camera alone, nobody in their right mind is going to leave £50k sitting on a station unsupervised for 4 days straight, that's just asking for someone to nick it.... Now how many cameras do you need, 15? 20? You really want to leave a million quids worth of cameras laying around with tbk members wondering about unsupervised ? |

Why do the CCTV camera's only ever capture the aftermath of crashes? Surely everything they film is recorded, just wind back and show us the damn crash. And didn't the Audi have an onboard camera? |

Good lord! I wonder how far he would end up if there was no concrete wall, which he destroyed, behind the track-side wall... |

A bit puzzling to understand how he managed to end up where he did, from that moment |

Yeaa because he's completely on the other side of the wall. Guess the energy bounced the car back over again. |

Guess this explains why they were happy to continue with a big hole in the fence. The catch fencing did fuck all anyway. |

Either way, it didn't stand up as well as the fencing at Daytona/Dega/Indy |

What stops from them removing the cameras and reinstalling them? They already do quite a lot of work to shut down and reopen the roads. FFS, even one camera in a good place could be a big difference. |

The FIA-spec debris fencing seriously damaged by the Audi was not replaced after Duval's accident for the remainder of practice and then qualifying. Beaumesnil explained that it was not mandatory at this point of the circuit because its primary purpose was to protect the public (and this area is not a spectator zone). http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/114410 Interesting explanation... |
