The Highway to Help car just blew over in the tri oval and is sitting upside down in NASCAR T1. Oh my God.

HUGE crash for the #50 DP just now. Airborne at star finish for 100 yards and landed on its roof. Hope the driver is ok.

Why does stuff like this never happen during the race with lots of cameras to capture it!

IMSA reported that driver (Bryon deFoor) was treated and released from the infield care center. Continental Tire officials saying it could have been a tie-rod failure in the left rear that caused the car to blowover.

Was it last year that a DP flipped there because of a puncture?

Man, that could have been so nasty. The markings on the wall at the base of the fence are proof enough. Thankfully the chassis didn't really dig into the fence significantly.

Pretty clear about the mechanical failure though. Rear corner had to fail for the nose of the car to just lift off like that.

This isn't a given either, a dp did a full back flip in 05 or so during the race and the cameres still missed it.

In racing there are minor crashes and major crashes then there are the rare ones so big they seem to be unfilmable.
(Eliot sadler at pocano and le mans qualifying last year to name but two off the top of my head)
