Even though this is two weeks off, the Accuweather.com forecast is calling for showers on saturday.

So? A forecast for two weeks in the future probably won't be accurate. At all.

Was any of the infield section resurfaced? Aside from the chicane on the backstretch of course.

The transition from the tri-oval to turn one has been. The new pavement ends just before the start of the concrete pitwall. I also believe the transition from turn 6 to NASCAR 1 has been repaved (as that was rather bumpy indeed) but don't quote me on that.

That track map seems to indicate they are running the longer version of the bus stop, which would be a change from past years. Is that indeed the case?

Nope, the image is incorrect, they're running the short version they've used since 2004 or so.

I may be hosting a TS3 server so we can do TBK Radio. Not entirely positive.

Here are the DP & GT fields for the 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona:

Image

The entry list only shows 17 entries but there are clearly 18 cars in the photo. The car in back right corner of the photo is the only one I can’t identify. From other photos you can tell that it’s a Ford Riley but can’t see a number or sponsors to help figure out what team is it. Maybe AIM Autosport? (edit: AIM website says they aren't able to enter this year. Hope they are able to run the rest of the schedule like last year.)

edit: The late entry turned out to be a third Starworks Ford Riley carrying the #2.

The DP field is made up of:

Engines
BMW: 4
Porsche: 3
Ford: 8
Chevrolet: 3

Chassis
Riley: 13
Dallara: 3
Lola: 1
Coyote: 1

Image

Only 30 of the 32 entries are in the photo. As crazy of a fan as I am I still can't figure out who's missing. LOL

The GT field is made up of:

Ferrari 430 Challenge: 3
Porsche GT3: 14
Camaro GT.R: 3
Ford Mustang: 1
Mazda RX-8: 9
BMW M3: 1
BMW M6: 1

It appears there should be a total of 50 entries. That is pretty outstanding and actually up from last season(45). I'm more excited about this race that I ever have been before and cannot wait for the start on Saturday!

According to Andy Lally the #67 GT Pole Sitters time was thrown out for a rear wing problem.
