Thx for posting that vid.

There must be another angle btw (ie. from another pitlane cameraman), as RLM saw the replay immediately after the crash, so I am guessing it was from a source more official than that.

Davidson thrilled with performance

Quote:
"I feel I have shown the world what I am made of finally," Davidson told AUTOSPORT. "People have judged me from Formula 1 results, because that is obviously where I made a name for myself in the big time, and this was a prestigious race where I was able to show what I am made of.

I guess he's forgotten all about taking out the GT2 leader and nearly wrecking the car coming down pitlane. The comment to SpeedTV that, "Corvette had it coming to them" was also nice touch.

What a c**t.

I would be totally and utterly ambivalent to him getting run down in the pitlane in Valencia in two weeks.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Mistakes aside, you cannot deny that he has shown that he can be very quick.

*Denies*

Yeaa he is but being quick is one thing, handling traffic is another thing. It's no good if you're going to do things that'll damage the car or give you a penalty.

I like Davidson but after the contact with the Ferrari in the night he obviously thought he had some making up to do. His driving after that was pretty shit and erratic. I suspect Peugeot wont be asking him back.

Davidsons quick, but he isn't a sportcar driver. He can't handle traffic and he's an arsehole about it afterwards. All he needed to do was wait 2 corners in both accidents, but nope. He and Peugeot of all people should know that there is more to Le Mans than simply driving fast.

Frankly, fuck him. I hope someone gets into an accident with him next time and says "Well, he had it coming".

At least puts his comments @ RLM in a very different light.

ITT Formerly likeable drivers putting in one bad performance and suddenly becoming public enemy number one.

Just wish if he was gonna be like that he would shoulder barge or Burnout Takedown Gentalozzi's Jag or someone who deserved it....I guess though it would've had to have been on track for longer for something like that to happen...

Ants always been an arse. His comments during the F1 make him out like he is some sort of driving god. And during his first commentary session, when Jenson won his first GP, he even tried to make it all about himself by shouting "I CAN'T BELIEVE I WAS THE ONE" when Jenson crossed the line. That and James Allen together had the single 2 worst pieces of commentary I've ever see in an F1 race.

It wasn't one bad performance. It was punting 2 important cars through ignorance and stupidity, then acting like a complete c**t afterwards. His half apology to Autosport afterwards wasn't an apology, it was another blatant piece of ignorance. He apologises to make himself seem like the good guy, but still blames everyone else.

I had nothing against Davidson before this race. He seemed like a fast driver who never got a great shot in F1. As I recall, when he was the 3rd driver for Honda, he always seemed to be faster than either of their drivers at the time. However, even putting aside the accidents with the 2 GT2 cars, he drove like an idiot. I didn't know being told to go 100% and take risks ment spinning out and jumping the car over the curbs to pit road. Also saying in an "apology" that he is not racing the guys in GT2 so he doesn't care isn't much of an apology. Basically that is like saying "I am just sorry you were in my way". If I was Peugeot, I could find another driver as fast as him who takes care of the car. Maybe this is why he never got that real shot in F1.

I think we all know that any form of Endurance racing is a different dicipline to sprint racing.. Look at TK, and even the likes of Derek Bell.. Good in the other series but when it comes to endurance, exceptional.. (wasn't going to include Ickx as he was great at both)
I have seen it many times in our series, drivers with some record and/or reputation come in and start to talk about winning every race and then go and bin it or lunch the gearbox on the 1st hour.. It's a combination of mechanical sympathy and being able to be quick enough whilst staying out of trouble.. Simples!.. And to be honest, I think that's why I prefer it!

And his assertion that he would have done better than Badoer. Which he wouldn't have because he'd had no experience of current cars as well

He's a good commentator but he's an arrogant arse. And whilst Brundle is as well to a certain extent, at least his is a likable, humourous arrogance

Why would a GT2 be defending against a LMP1 Ant? What a twat.
