No Lolas were involved there, I assume you mean Newton in the Acura?

Sorry, I don't consider that conclusive. It very much depends on what Lamy was doing in the mirrors - if Lamy was staying far right and then suddenly jerked left, Newton would have been caught totally off guard. In any case, Newton had right of way and Lamy forced it in at a very strange spot - drivers' right being the standard move there.

According to the marshals, that was the case.

Good find on the video, but that just shows what the eye witnesses said. Lamy dived into a closing gap. That is still Lamys fault.

Yeaa, I really don't think he was expecting Lamy to do that.

Eurosport viewers probably heard how Haven also mentioned Nissan & P1 just before the start. Must be quite widely spread rumour on the paddock.

Don't know who it was, head of Nissan UK/marketing, something like that. Martin Haven was doing everything he could to get him to spill the beans, before jokingly coughing and saying, 'good luck with your new prototype'.

I missed that part.

Remember the Spa poster? I think I can find some artistic similarities.

Their design department needs sacking. That is woeful. The only way it could possibly be worse is if they used MS Publisher and a truck load of word art and clip art. And Comic Sans.

This can't be happening next year anymore.

In another news, if it's actually news: AMR will skip Imola.

Lol, only option after failing at Le Mans so badly. For them its a waste of resources to go there I guess.

With Panoz' ventures all going south, I wonder if Road Atlanta is sold if he could be convinced to start over elsewhere. I know of a neighboring state with tons of open land and little in the way of purpose built road courses. One such state that has Nissan and Volkswagen plants. Some where that would be centrally located to those plants as well as MB, BMW and Corvette plants as well.

I wonder...

Given he is selling off stuff and the new Panoz GT Car hasn't taken off at all, I'd say he's not in the market for building brand new facilities.

But thats exactly it, though. He's going to be selling off all this stuff, might as well clean out completely and start anew. There's three manufacturers around here that have been heavily involved with the ALMS at some point, and the other two are in a rebirth of their sportscar programs.

It could happen.in my dreams

Some pretty big news starting to come out:

First, Toyota have commissioned an open cockpit LMP1. It's been built by Dome and has been tested pretty heavily already from the sounds of it. Rumours are that it includes hybrid technology. It's a curious thing though, given the recent announcement about the customer engine being made available exclusively to Lola teams. No idea what the earthquake has done budget wise given this thing has already tested pretty extensively. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/92396

Second, Mazda is apparently evaluating a return to LMP1. Speedsource (their Grand-Am pseudo-factory team) has been commissioned to investigate using the SKYACTIV-D technology in top-flight sportscars. Interesting to note that it would be a diesel...
