A bit higher and that thing would have gone into the dirt bank, and fence, and crowd

Whoa! Some air there. Remind me of Thierry Tassin's big stunt at the 1982 F2 race when he had some air and ended up resting on the barriers.

Was that a Radical too? Maybe they need to look at the aero of those things, shouldn't really take off just from a high speed spin

Fuck.

That was made worse by the fact it tried taking off and the front of the car was in the air when it hit the tyres. Lucky escape.

Scary one. Tyrewall didn't really help there. Looked more like a hill climb crash (which it is).

Wow that was much worse than I expected from the tv coverage. So lucky it didn't go into the marshals post.

Don't forget the fans, I've stood there a dozen times, and if that car would have gone a bit higher it would have been in the fence with fans right behind...

And as expected, it looks like they will add another fence to that area.

Furthermore, track organisers are fed up with cars exceeding track limits.
- "sleeping policemen" in Eau Rouge and Blanchimont
- Grass instead of astroturf in Blanchimont

Not sure sleeping policeman at eau rouge are a good idea, cars could end getting a fair bit of air if they hit them at high speed.

Glad the Blanchimont astro turf is going, there's been some big shunts from drivers keeping their foot in on that astro turf.

Basically the guy (Spa-Francorchamp's circuit chief) is also saying the asphalted runoffs have caused drivers to think they have way more track to use, causing them to go over the limit.

Well, well, well.
