The traditional season opener for North American sports car racing & the kick off to Speedweeks 2021 is here with the 52nd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway, featuring the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. However before the 24 is the annual Roar test weekend, which moves back a week - making a compact 2 week stretch for IMSA teams in Daytona Beach. Among the changes to the Roar weekend in 2021 includes additional races on the weekend, with the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship running a 100 minute qualifying race to set the field for the 2021 Rolex 24 at Daytona. IMSA Prototype Challenge also returns during Roar weekend to open their 2021 season. Testing starts on January 22nd, with racing on the 23rd & 24th for IWSC & IPC. Alongside the 24 hour endurance contest on race weekend, IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge returns with their annual 4 hour endurance race on Friday for GT4 & TCR cars. New for 2021 on Rolex 24 weekend is the addition of the Mazda MX-5 Cup, which moves to IMSA sanctioning for the 2021 season. ETCR was originally slated as a supporting division for the 2021 edition of the Rolex 24, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic - the race has been scrapped, but a demonstration run is still scheduled. Many changes have occurred during the off season in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship, most notably of those being the departure of Team Penske (DPI class) & Porsche Motorsport North America/CORE Autosport (GTLM class). LMP3 will make it's first introduction into the championship after several years running as a standalone support series. Chip Ganassi Racing returns to IMSA competition after a couple years away from sports car racing, the team will run a Cadillac DPi program with Renger van der Zande & Kevin Magnussen. Wayne Taylor Racing switches to Acura after their long stint of running GM powered machines in IMSA/Grand-Am prototype racing. Meyer Shank Racing also moves back up to prototype racing with a Acura DPi. WeatherTech Racing will fly the Porsche flags in the GTLM class for 2021, thus being the only full-time competitors to the Corvette team. PC went green, then a caution after 5 minutes racing. Looks like they prematurely brought the caution out. |

Hate that this sponsor won't let them go fullscreen. |

The volume key appeared when I had disable the 2nd of my 2 adblockers lol |

That would be why, so my being petty I'll not buy their insurance |
