How come these miscellaneous sport car series have always huge grids while open-wheel categories struggle to have even 20-car grids?

Nah, being dedicated open-wheel lover I'm just annoyed that F3, F2, GP3, F3.5, and F1 all have smaller grids that some touring/sports car series (bar WTCC & DTM).
Anyway, carry on.
