Fox Sports has dropped WEC and 24 Hours of LeMans coverage in the US. Possibly Velocity picking it up, but nothing confirmed.

This isn't really news exactly since this has been talked about. We'll have to see what the P1 rules shake out to be but hybrid technology and building your own cars are not something the DPi teams are going to want to deal with. Sentiments echoed by Acura and Mazda in the article. If the ACO/WEC want to make it attractive to the manufactures and smaller teams then adopt new P1 rules similar to their P2 rules, just scaled up. Off the shelf chassis, no hybrids, open engine rules, manufacturer styling cues. IMSA won't adopt new rules until 2022, so 5 years total with these DPi cars and it'll be time for new equipment anyway. If the ACO/WEC press for the hybrid and build your own chassis, I'd expect IMSA to continue on the path they're currently on with the prototypes and leave Lemans for the GTE teams.
