So overall the teams have lost over 2 hours of running today. Things are going well!

Quite a shunt there by the Aston Martin.

As a poor attempt at consolation, here's a new photoshop courtesy of Taki Inoue:

After that mega shunt, they will rebuilt the car?! Blimey, kudos to Audi for committing themselves to the race!

Guess they have plenty of experience with lightning fast rebuilds like their unique rear ends of their old R8s when changing the gearbox.

I think Liz was too optimistic in Practice when she said to expect them to reach 3.18

5s from there now and I still believe they won't even drop the 1.20 as I said during the test day.

Anyway, Audi won't be able to keep up in speed so they need that extra car to increase their chances on the reliability front(as was the case in many times against the much faster Peugeots)

I read elsewhere that, in autosport plus, Doctor WU admitted that Audi is 200HP down on Toyota at the beginning of the straights.

I think dipping into mid-20's *is* possible, but we may never know if tomorrow is as red as today.

Possibly the laptimes at 3-4am during the race will come down a bit more, but those fuel regs are so tricky.

Saying that though, if tomorrow's qualifying is wet....are we going to get a classic F1 pre-96 qualy rules mixed up grid? :innocent:
