Is it unrealistic to hope for Pescarolo to step up to the plate and attempt to reach/surpass former glory?

Once again, Mulsanne Mike delivers a great explanation of some technical wotsits. This time, the "swan neck" rear wing mounts: http://www.mulsannescorner.com/rearwingLMPCFD2009.html

Will it mean Toyota will have a full works TMG team from next year on?

Ehm? Oreca provides some operational support i.e. personnel for the racing team, maybe this is going to be reduced in the future but besides this it can't get much more in-house. Also I think the engineering & construction side of Oreca is separate from the racing activities so there is no conflict.

That's what I was talking about. Toyota hiring an all-new team for their 2014 effort dumping De Chaunac back to privateer business (although that would be a quite dumb move).
Speaking of which, is there any word on 2013 grandfathered cars? I wouldn't want to see a LMP1 field smaller that this years'.

Smaller? We get 2-3 Porsches and (hopefully) retain all the current teams. Also we have Dome with an LMP1 and that new company. If they both yeild 1 car we have a much bigger LMP1 field than we now have.

Still remains to be seen if Dome gets any customer and R-One goes beyond being fielded only by team Rebellion.

Was aiming at the new LMP1 from last page. Maybe one of those manufacturers can convince on of the LMP2 to make the step to LMP1. Dome can always yield 1 car them-self to showcase it.

This is pretty big news, because at least there is now an option for privateers for 2014.

Besides the "Lotus" LMP2, also a peek to how 2014 cars will look (in another words, just by looking at the picture you probably don't realize that the overall dimensions has been reduced, tyre sizes reduced to P2 size and cockpit shape/size altered).

Can't find it directly from the regs, but for sure it has to be possible as it was one option for Rebellion.

Gah. Beat me to it :p

Here's three more:

Very much looks like it's based off the R18, but with a wider rear wing and slightly different air intake.

I think its more different to the R18 than you think.

The wider rear wing will most likely be standard on all 2014 cars as the car is thinner, same with the bigger greenhouse. The front nose on the Porsche is higher and it might be the camo paint hiding it, but the sidepods are very simple aero wise. Rear brake intakes are surprisingly massive.

I know who I will be supporting for next year as I have been a Porsche fan since I discovered sportscars.

I would like to see a side profile of the car. The black strip/bar on the nose of the Porsche, what is it?

Intake. There's one on the R18 and TS030 too

The smaller intakes at either side are front brake intakes.

I had a feeling the car might be thinner, so that would indeed explain the wider looking rear wing. Of course it's not an exact copy, so it may just be the regulations that lead to somewhat similar cars being produced by the works manufacturers. Just going off what little I can see here; it will probably look very different once an actual livery is on the car.
