Manthey gets new 911 and becomes an actual factory team for 2013 WEC. Crazy driver lineup: Marco Holzer, Romain Dumas, Timo Bernhard, Patrick Pilet, Marc Lieb, Richard Lietz and Jörg Bergmeister.

Will Manthey also run the P1 car in 2014? ;)

Yes! Saves the ALMS kind of racing for at least another year.

Did anyone else watch the Ferrari World Finals from Valencia. A few hard accidents and lots of body contact over the 3 days.

Good for Maxime - his driving last year at Spa was nothing short of extraordinary. Shame to see Joerg out, but that said he's had a long career at BMW and I think his time was up...

I'm glad he hasn't chosen DTM (could still change though, but I hope he does not end up there). Much rather see him do this.

I know it's 5 days late, but as the resident Porsche fanboy I'd just like to say "w00t!" for the Manthey factory deal. I like the way this is going 8)

The format of qualifying has been amended to make it more attractive for spectators and media. From 2013, two drivers must establish two lap times each and the average of the four lap times will be the reference time for establishing the starting grid. Warm-up has been cancelled, except specifically where required by some events.

This will ruin the only qualification that actually matters (Le Mans) :(

Endurance racing fans are being called upon to help name the greatest cars in the history of the Le Mans 24 Hours in its 90th anniversary year in 2013.

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the organiser of the 24 Hours, has set up an online poll for fans of the great race to vote for a car from each of the 10 decades of the event.

A 10-man panel, including top drivers, team managers and journalists, will then choose between the winners of each decade to come up with a top-10 list of the cars that best embody the legend of Le Mans.

The ACO has nominated three cars per decade for which sportscar aficionados can cast their votes. Included on the list are the Bentley Speed Six from the 1930s, the Jaguar D-type from the '50s, the Porsche 917K from the '70s and the Porsche 956 from the '80s and the Audi R18 e-tron quattro from the present decade.

I assume it has something to do with the fact that the R10 is already on there and they didn't want to duplicate manufacturers.

Yeah, but between the R8 and the R18, I certainly wouldn't have picked the latter.

Graham Goodwin:
"Three R18 etron quattros for Spa and Le Mans - 2 for full 2013 WEC"
"Factory Audi team "planning" for race in Sebring"
"Lucas di Grassi confirmed as a 2013 Audi factory driver - No LMP place for either Rockenfeller or Bonanomi"

Benoît Tréluyer, Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer, Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen, Loïc Duval, Marc Gené, Oliver Jarvis & Lucas di Grassi.

Bernhard and Dumas off to Porsche, logically. Bonanomi apparently linked to a Volkswagen-program.

Kind of disappointed for Rocky...

Don't wanna be insecure
It's about time that you went home

di Grassi over Rocky smells fishy. I hope Lucas has done some maturing, because I don't see this ending well. Of course, Rockenfeller had some dust ups as well.
