So do we all agree that this looks like an absolute amateurish farce both on track and in race direction?

Or should we pretend to be extatic in front of a LEGENDARY 100YEAR EDITIOAN

I don't know how they thought this would work on a 13 km track with 3 classes and 60+ cars. This is not Lime Rock or Richmond. And there's bound to be lapped cars anyhow, in a couple of laps.

So we'll have 50 % of the 24 hours being SC hours.

Amazing race

Having seen today's driving standards in GTE and LMP2, that's probably a conservative estimate.

Fucking hell the merging and wave rounds took 20 minutes, and they've only just started the class split

What sucks is that the bits of green flag running, or at least the bits not under slow zone have been fantastic at the sharp end of the field. I'm not a fan of modern race stewardship, in ANY class of motorsports and this is shaping up to be another great example of how not to run a race.

This is going from "WOW what a race" to "I´d rather watch F1 in Abu Dhabi ".

This is so fucking stupid. Safety Car for the past 1.5 hours...for what? I'm going to bed.

Apparently there were ambulances down at the Porsche Curves - the medical light came on in the 83 after the crash. Lilou Wadoux is OK, though, according to AutoHebdo. Think it explains (partly) the long SC period. Barrier repairs down there as well

I'm still struggling to understand how we have GTs being waved to overtake a line of LMP2s, but I'm willing to give it a try and keep an open mind

For the first time in 30 odd years watching motorsport, I sincerely hope it doesn't rain.

Seriously... 1h30 of Safety Car and no wet running too.

Good job.

If they dropped the GTs back first, dropping the LMP2s back would be a big mess of "drop back to behind this car, but in front of this car". It's the only way to do it if they want a full class split, to which the obvious answer is "don't do a full class split"

And then being queued to let them pass again...this is such a nonsense
