That's just a mock up to the previously-proposed and now abandoned new rules. It's not the actual car. The actual car, from what I've heard, is open-top again

Here is a link to an article about the new R15 LeMans car. Pretty interesting, but the front looks horrible IMO.

The front makes it look like a Grand-Am car.

For the 2009 ALMS Series Audi will run an updated R10. Yes, it is on its way out due to the arrival of the R15 in ?? 2010.. (around the time, Toyota, Acura, and Porsche introduce their cars for the 2010 lemans.)

Now for the end of career...This was the last drive for the great Emanuele Pirro. He will now still work for Audi in some of their promotional work but, he is not going to drive in anger any more. Sad to see such a great man leave the sport he loved.

McNish said at Le Mans they would be testing the R15 very early in 2009 and bringing it to Le Mans though.

Pretty good race, some of the closest and most aggressive battling between the prototypes I've seen this race. Shame about the NBC coverage, they really need to cut over the pit reporters when there's really close racing on the track. Think Motors did some random editing of their own as well, looked like they showed some things from the world feed that NBC had cut, unless there were bits of the NBC coverage with no commentary at all?

Ok-ish race but NBC coverage was horrible (watched torrent from RU). Lots of onboard footage was nice though.
