On Windtunnel on Sunday Tommy Kendall announced that he was chosen as one of the lead drivers for the SRT Viper team. This will be interesting because Tommy really hasn't been in a race car for several years and to be honest i hope he has kept in physical shape. The Vipers first race outing will be at this years Mid-Ohio race.. Ryan Hunter-Ray will also be co-driving with Tommy at the Petit Le Mans and the longer endurance races.

Anyone else herd of the other drivers that might have been chosen to drive the second car?

Marc Goossens, Dominik Farnbacher and Kuno Wittmer

Are they so confident of their engine size waiver  that they don't even need all 1st rate driver lineup? Or due the mid-season start they're waiting to see what drivers will be available for 2013?

Don't like their waiver begging approach but good that they're interested to continue.

Not entirely up to date with the current situation (with Mercedes5CLR's post about Ryan Hunter-Reay joining Tommy Kendall), but at first the plan was to have Goossens/Farnbacher/Hunter-Reay for the endurance events, which would be pretty "1st rate" IMO.

Anyway, Marc, Dominik & Kuno have all been spending the last couple of months full-time testing and developing.

Petit Le Mans is now a combined ALMS and ELMS event. All we need is WEC and then it'll be perfect.

The track just can't handle the car count. Unless ALMS drops at least the Porsche class but that won't happen.

The other side of this move is that rest of the ELMS season (2 races) has been cancelled:
