Just got in as the missus was watching the Voice (on BBC) and I was having a nap. Pretty nasty accident by the look of it. Hope the driver will be ok. I know Le Mans never has been red flagged but what about Daytona?

Last red flagged they said in 2004 due to heavy rain.

First red flag in 10 years, in 2004 there was a massive rainstorm that led to a race stoppage.

Clock is still running, btw, like it matters.

Daytona has been red flagged for the last time in 2004 due to rain.

That was horrible and violent. Fingers crossed for both drivers.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Just watching the video back on the TV in slow motion… It looks like he was following a yellow car (corvette?) closely, the other car dodged at the last second and he didn't even see it coming. Either that or they were nearly side by side and Memo had nowhere to go.

That combined with the sun. He was likely focused on the car he was battling and never saw the Ferrari.

He was looking at overtaking the BMW, no idea the Ferrari was even there.

Looks the Turner colours.

Sadly these things can happen in multi class racing.

So what are we waiting for now? I would've expected the track to be clear of debris already.

They're sorting the restart order, I assume.

Just spoke with Bob Stallings who's at the hospital, says Memo's conscious. Has not seen Memo.
