Awesome race, a 24 hour race can't get any more exciting than this. A shame that Montoya lacked the horsepower because he certainly was the best man out there in that final stint.

Best race in the history of racing.

Montoya did an amazing race, i think he's gonna be one of the best Daytona 24h drivers ever

I want JPM to do Sebring and Le Mans soon.

what a race, great to see Brumos taking the checkered with Donohue 40 years after his dad won it. shame he wasn't teamed up with Haywood - would've been quite some history with Brumos, Donohue and Haywood

and what a great eurosport weekend as well - they've definately earned some reputation with Tona and Monte

That would be awesome to see JPM do that.

Juan wins in everything he drives; without doubt he's the greatest active all-rounder in the sport at the moment. Would love to see him try Le Mans/Sebring, or even more left-field to have a go at rallying, surely his legendary car control would lend itself brilliantly to that.

It is clear he can get the tipple crown is he is going to do Le Mans (So can Villeneuve BTW but he didn't impressed at Le Mans).

Btw if you read the bottom about substituting either the Daytona 500 or the 24 Hours of Daytona in place of the Monaco GP or Le Mans, JPM has already done the triple crown.

Fantastic 24 hours, one of the best editions of the last years. Was cheering for Ganassi though, unfortunately "el gordito" Montoya didnt deliver today, but it's understandable, the Porsche cars were extremely fast in the straights...the Ganassi cars were more stable, but Brumos faster in the oval part that is something like 80% of the circuit...so, miracles do not happen. Ganassi drivers were warriors anyway. The last minutes were breathtaking.

With just 2 miles per hour more that the engine had and the story would've been different...2nd was still a good result for ganassi and it was just an awesome race.

If there has been a better 24 hour race than the 2009 24 Hours of Daytona, I'm not aware of it. Who would have ever thought we would have ever seen a 24 hour race with 4 cars running nose to tail for the race lead with 1 hour left in the race? This was a very competitive race. It was a hard-earned and well-deserved win by the Brumos Team. This win was long overdue, especially after what happened at Montreal last year. I have never seen a 24 hour race's outcome in doubt like that on the final lap. It was a great start to Speedweeks 2009. How will the stock cars follow up a great opening act?

What a great last couple hours that was. So much fun to see Montoya and Donahue fighting hard and clean. Very impressive drive by Montoya but certainly more satisfying to see such a huge win for Brumos and Donahue both. :)

For those watching the SPEED broadcast and were wondering where Dorsey was...some people over the SPEED forum noticed that he's no longer listed on their "personalities" page. Also at the end of the broadcast they said Leigh Diffey and Calvin will be the commentators for this season. It looks like Dorsey is no longer part of the commentary team. :x :x :x :x :x

He was never there, Brian Till said in the Speed Channel chat Saturday night that he was at home in the Keys enjoying "time off."
