Looks like one of those GT cars rear-ended the #3. Still no clear replay

Slow zones have been quietly more dangerous compared to any other caution type period and no-one talks about it

Causing more carnage than they're saving now....

Yeah, I don't really get this safe zone concept...saw another check-up accident in the Ferrari Challenge race at Le Mans earlier today. How does it determine position? What if two cars are battling for position as they approach the slow zone? Who backs off? Seems like a pretty weird and dangerous thing to me.

if it was Dixon on that caddy the car would be unscathed and on the top 3 with 10+ laps of fuel than the opposition

Thanks for the streams everyone, I broke down and redubbed to MotorTrend just in time for the derps.

Looks like peak dentistry by the AF Corse GT.

Anyway, in less than 2 hours of racing, we have had 3 different manufacturers leading the race.

Slow zones work fine at the Nurburgring where they punish the drivers far more heavily for getting them wrong... funnily enough that largely seems to stop drivers making these mistakes

It's a matter of communication too. The teams know where the zones are and when they are active, they have to inform them ASAP so that the driver is aware.

Not to mention that half of the field during Porsche race noticed that Slow Zone was ending and half doesn't for half of a straight after Mulsanne Virage

RvdZ knows where the problem lies.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Exactly, it's the drivers. They've been into the slow zone before, they know it's there.

On the Nords it can cost you your Ring permit, perhaps they should have similar here because it's such a long track they need to use SC's as little as possible. Especially with the stupid new rules they've imposed.

Slow zones were introduced in 2014. Nearly always the drivers that fuck up in the zones are Am drivers so there's isn't much that can be done about it.

I think Eduardo used the SC as soon as he could while the field wasn't spread out to see how it worked and now he's avoiding it like the plague.

I had the same thought. The crashes of the last 30 minutes were much heavier than in the 1st lap, yet no SC. Looks like race control just don't want to use it anymore.
