It's the bad joke that never fucking ends. In true comedy style, the dildo is getting batteries...

Panoz's vision, which would break another barrier if it can be achieved, calls for quick-change battery units that would allow the DeltaWing EV to complete stints equal to the leading GTE cars by swapping battery units in the same time it would take to complete a normal refueling pit stop.

Admirable, but reality is calling. Not even Formula E attempts to do that yet.

Also, I'd love to see the pile of used batteries after the race. There's some green racing for you.

NO DEAR GOD WHY WOULD YOU SAY THIS

I'd rather have 15 Delta Wangs than see that abomination again.

I would think the focus would be to have like two or three that can be recharged.

Getting away from the Wang and the Mazda to cars that don't suck: Multimatic are bringing two of the new Ford Shelby GT350R-C cars to race at the Glen....

Nice! I wonder when Stevenson will change to the 6th generation Camaro next year in GS.

Only 36 cars on the grid for the 6 Hour :(

It's pretty much what was expected - there were always going to be quite a few less entries than Daytona and Sebring which don't clash with the European season. It's way to big a deal for amateur teams like ESM, Krohn and so to be crossing the pond every couple of weeks. Not surprised that the GT ranks have thinned out either as this is a holding year before the new new regs in both classes next season. Also doesn't help that Aston Martin have given up early again either.

Just going to make the best of this race with the promise that next year will be pretty good - lots of new GTLM cars (Ford GT, second gen CR7, BMW M6, Ferrari 488 and a possible Bentley) and the GTD field should really grow with the GT3 regs.

Disappointed by this. Attending this race has become a yearly tradition for myself and my WNY buddies. I hope it doesn't continue to decline each year.

Even if the action on track is a bit dull, the trackside camping and scenery is always great at the glen.

Well doesn't help either that the LMP2 cars are so hobbled by BoP compared to the DP's. What's the point in running if you know you can't win.

Is the second Mazda back or they still going to run just one car? We'll have what, two or three LMP2 cars.

The lack of LMP2s is especially sad this weekend given that the #42 LMP2 ran out front for most of last years race and had the sure win ruined by a late caution and restart. They could actually compete with the DPs at this track last year.

And that was all down to the ridiculous BoP, the DP could just blow by.

There was talk of a GTE Bentley (solely for USCC) in an article on sportscar365, but that was in May and I haven't anything more about it.

Yep, it was first reported 1 month ago, haven't heard anything since but hopefully it's in the pipeline.

Back to two. Some rumor that one of them may have a petrol engine in place of the gutless diesel this time.
