Of course, there was news floating around that Peugeot was looking for a privateer to take over the cars in the meantime. It would appear that no one has been found, as of yet.

Additionally, today is the last day to submit entries for the WEC and Le Mans itself. Entry list is due out in around 2 weeks.

Recently Mini missed the deadline for WRC, and deadline was then extended and Mini even was granted a manufacturer status despite of them not being full season entry. So I guess FIA could act nicely because this must be a bit of a 911 situation.

That's a good point. They might allow a late private Pug entry.

So will ORECA be running a Peugeot this year? (or was it already confirmed that they were running something else?)

@RLM
As we have been reporting the choice given to Quisnel was budget for this year OR for 2014 development NOT both. Strakka Wec champs?

I guess that could be another comparison to WRC then (remember the Citroen Kronos team in 2006).

Woah, that Peugeot news sucks.

Hopefully some team can run the cars as a privateer in the near future.

FFS. LeMans this year was shaping up to be a treat....

Huge blow!! If they don't sort out the diesel-gasoline divide it will be a poor showing.

Pescarolo has announced their entry in to the WEC with one car, with two for Le Mans 24. No confirmation on what car that will be.

Peugeot might (this is just speculation on my part) do this as a cover-up for a future anouncement of bigger-than-expected losses, or factories being closed.

Citroën almost fatalzed a huge factory just a few kilometers away from where I live, and all the unions and employees were complaining about Citroën spending loads of money in their WRC program, instead of using that money to save jobs and co.

Very bad news anyway, I can't believe how badly managed their program was.
