It's ok I don't think you missed much, from what I saw it seems perhaps some of the french cameramen went home between the hours of 1am-6am?
Did anyone else notice we only seem to have got footage from the pit lane and onboards during those hours?

Maybe they should do something about that, and also the lack of track shots in practice too....?

i enjoyed this 24 hours very much. it is amazing the very few incidents/crashes we had compared to the very nervous practice/qualifying sessions. And all 3 podium finishers had a big problem and had to stay quite some time in the pits, quite amazing. All three times I thought it could have been the end of their race...

bring on 2015!

It has been a hectic weekend for me. Father's Day, a christening on Sunday, my little kid falling ill and the World Cup. I didn't watch much of the race as I wanted to but I was pleased to see most of the race when Porsche was leading until Webber ran off.

I am glad I watched the first 4 hours as it had the main drama of the race as the action settled down do the reminder of the race.

It wa a good race with plenty of scraps and class lead changes in the lower classes.

This year's 24 hours will be remember as a watershed mark. Gordon Kirby writes about why I think that it will be so, not jut for the sake of sports car racing: http://www.gordonkirby.com/categories/c ... no438.html

Some of my photos, including selfies that seemed to become a running joke this year. Proper pics off the real camera will follow eventually, I have about 1,000 to process.

What campsite were you on? Some of these cars look very familiar to me.

Quote:
The failure was a freak one: the car encountered an issue with the wiring loom of one of its scrutineering systems, and the team was aware of it and had just called in Nakajima.

"We knew what it was, we had called Kazuki in, the mechanics were ready to change it and it would have taken two or three minutes to solve - it would have been a really quick pitstop," explained Vasselon.

"But unfortunately the loom melted before the car could get back to the pits

"We cannot say it was bad luck, because a problem is a problem. The bad luck was that we couldn't get the car back to the pits."

---

Vasselon was more succinct: "Don't talk to me about podiums."

Given the completely illegal rear end, that's just karma.
