will there be more cameras running today for qualifying?

usually there are no cameras on the temporary track because the layout is openned to traffic after the sessions (until the week-end)

I remember reading something this year the roads wouldn't be opened for Friday.

well this sucks. I guess the ACO doesn't like the fact that we have open rules over here but whatever.

LMP1 is open as it is. I wish teams would actually go for LMP1 now that LMP2 will be so limited. In that way, it is a bit of a bummer that IMSA didn't go for LMP1, but it's always a cost issue. I wonder how much hassle it is to convert a current LMP2 car into an LMP1. Probably enormous, Strakka seems to have dumped the Dome for good.

There used to be some "convergence" before 2014 but now they're deifnitely gotten so far that such hack conversion car wouldn't be competitive.

and LMP1-H rules will not fly here in the US, way too expensive for both teams and manufacturers.

Plus I bet the ACO would play some tactics with manufacturers anyways if they weren't full time in WEC

Reminder about the GTE BoP situation: the Ford outfit is a Chip Ganassi organisation after all. Of course they are going to stack whatever cards they have in their favour.

Now WEC person said they could STILL do BoP adjustments before the race...

Maybe they should consider making the BoP less frequent, and thus removing the incentive to sandbag before the big race.

Not so long ago it was the same crap in LMP1 too, but making the adjustment only once a year and after Le Mans and then freezing was an excellent idea.

Eurosport 1 acestream (audio track 2 is english): 5fbae9861b252697dd0bae61c2fecd0e57057396

...Also, looks like the new paywall stream site can be accessed even without login: http://www.lemans.org/en/24-hours-of-le-mans/members/ :whistling:

Hehe thank you :D

If I sign up for Eurosport Player, do anyone know if I get the English audiotrack or my native (Swedish) commentators? Cause if its the Swedish commentators its a waste of time, I wont watch it...

I think you get, the availability of languages varies but there is a separate stream without ads and without commentary (just natural sounds) which is great for syncing with Radio Le Mans.

Why don't they just scrap BoP altogether? It just seems like trying to keep the cars artificially even goes so badly against the spirit of Le Mans. Want a better car? Build a better car.

Problem is though, being a factory class, the people with the money won't turn up if they don't have a competitive car.

Then you can say goodbye to half of the grid and top cars would be always Ferrari and now racing-car-turned-road-car Ford.

The performance window targets should be wider and BoP changes less frequent. Back in GT2/GT1 years it wasnt this big of a joke and better cars got more rewarded.
