Le Mans according to Eurosport: "the most fun you can have in a week while still being legal" that should be the tagline for next year!

Does anyone have (or can make) a screen grab of repairs to the barriers after Simonsen's crash and you could clearly see the tree he had contacted?
I know a screengrab and Youtube video have been posted but perhaps this screengrab gives the best representation of distance:

look at the backhoe's arm, it's well over the fence - 1.5m maybe 2m?

Also, in the original broadcast that Speed tv made the highlight clip from you could see that the whole area behind the barrier is actually raised up - the trees are at track level but the ground quickly drops away. I looked on google maps to see how high it was as on the broadcast, I saw a garbage truck drive under the track. Look:

He hit the 1st the tree - look how close that is to the bridge! There is an additional fence there but I doubt it's stronger than the tree. That whole area should be better protected.

Just noticed my live timing link that the #95 Aston Martin was retired with Simonsen's name in it then it was changed to Nygaarn (sp?) and now the name is blank.

That was mentioned previously and it's stupid and disrespectful for the officials to do that. It shouldn't change unless a driver plugs in (as they do), and it should only ever be manually corrected if a driver forgets to plug in. That didn't happen here!

Davidson recently took over the #8.

Bergmeister has completed his first fuel run in the #91. He's been setting really good times towards the end of his run.
