The GTs have been quite packed but not much close battles. Best moment probably now with DPs lapping them

20 minute caution because IMSA thought the car sponsored by 22 Jump Street was actually number 22, rather than number 18, and they had an investigation into why it was leading...which was because it hadn't pitted.

What the hell? They could have checked with the team itself rather than chucking a 20 minute caution. That's a bizarre excuse for a caution!

For IMSA, it's a fantastic excuse to for a little competition caution. :whistling:

Or they could've read the timing and scoring and seen it was actually #18, not #22. Or they could've looked at the big blue box on the side with the #18 on it. Or the #18 on the back bumper. Or the TV graphics which listed it as #18.

To be clear, the second yellow was for barrier repair and not to sort out GTD scoring situation. #DetroitGP #IMSA

@johndagys 2h
Per @ScotElkins: #IMSA used the time to review GTD leader (No. 18 Porsche) and later issued penalty for passing under yellow. #DetroitGP

That's not what IMSA said during the race. That's what they said afterwards to cover up yet another fuck up.

IMSA Got it wrong. It was reported all over the net, on TV graphics and by the commentators. Whilst the yellow flag was created for wall repair, it was done in under 5 minutes. We then spent a further 15 minutes with nothing happening, under yellow, whilst they were confused as to what car was what. Whilst the 18 did pass under yellow, the fact they thought the 22 was leading says it all. They had to investigate why the 22 lead, and then discovered it was the 18.
