Announcement will be lunchtime on Sunday (test day). Graham Goodwin a couple of seconds ago on RLM's Midweek Motorsports: "In terms of American race history and heritage, I can't think of a more significant announcement." McLaren/Honda doesn't seem specifically American, iono? |

They've pulled back a lot of their funding from domestic motorsports and Lemans would be a very good place to showcase their smaller displacement eco-boost turbo technology. |

Just make a sprint series, ala F1, with the LMP1 cars (give them some more freedom, like CanAm) and you have one motherfucking epic series. |

The longer 24, 12 and 6 hour races accompanied by some races of Grand Prix distance. Perfect to fill out the WEC schedule after Le Mans with some shorter Europeans races! Montezemolo did that couple of years ago and... exactly. Alonso is just a fan, he also attended the race couple of years ago. Of course the Ferrari connection important, but there are already quite a few GT Ferraris on the grid, so that alone means nothing in terms of P1. |
