F1 engine and a LMP1? Must be a heck of a partnership there! |

Announcement will be lunchtime on Sunday (test day). Graham Goodwin a couple of seconds ago on RLM's Midweek Motorsports: "In terms of American race history and heritage, I can't think of a more significant announcement." McLaren/Honda doesn't seem specifically American, iono? |

Wow LMP1 with more serious manufactures than f1. ACO really showed that room for innovation does attractie manufactures. |

McLaren/Honda doesn't seem specifically American, iono? That's whats so weird about it. I thought that it had to be something to it for them to retweet the McLaren rumour. But it has been about an American entrant all along. So what does that make it? A Corvette LMP1? Ford? Best case scenario would leave: Six LMP1 manufacturer's next year?!?! Holy sait. |

Highly possible come to think of it. They've pulled back a lot of their funding from domestic motorsports and Lemans would be a very good place to showcase their smaller displacement eco-boost turbo technology. |

With all of those rumours, I find it highly interesting that Fernando Alonso will be waving the flag at the start this year. Maybe more to come from Ferrari? |

Just make a sprint series, ala F1, with the LMP1 cars (give them some more freedom, like CanAm) and you have one motherfucking epic series. |

The longer 24, 12 and 6 hour races accompanied by some races of Grand Prix distance. Perfect to fill out the WEC schedule after Le Mans with some shorter Europeans races! No driver changes, no fuel saving, just go nuts! |

Montezemolo did that couple of years ago and... exactly. Alonso is just a fan, he also attended the race couple of years ago. Of course the Ferrari connection important, but there are already quite a few GT Ferraris on the grid, so that alone means nothing in terms of P1. |

ACO has released an 'update' to its WEC-app for iOS and Android for the 24 Hours: http://www.24h-lemans.com/en/news/the-l ... 15434.html I hope the 3G coverage works well in the Le Mans area. |

ellis wrote: The DW Road Car is actually more mental than it seems at first. So think back to the original DW. Designed by Ben Bowlby, funded mostly by Ganassi. Don seems to think that because he bought some of this, that he owns the rights to all cars with a thin nose...which is mental. So he's suing Nissan for using a Delta shaped car. Now this road car isn't being built by Panoz - since everything they build is awful. So they want to license the right to build a thin nosed car. Who is going to buy the right to use a thin nosed car, from a man who probably doesn't have the single rights to build thin nosed cars, whilst he's suing people for it? This is bat shit mental. Don Panoz is absolutely bat shit mental and it just gets worse with age. |
