Due to the pandemic, Daytona International Speedway will now host 2 sports car races on July 4th weekend. Saturday will feature the return to racing for the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship with a 2 hour & 40 minute race. While originally scheduled for Saturday, the Champ Car Endurance Series will now race on Sunday in a 14 hour contest.

A limited number of non-essential personnel / fans will be allowed to attend this race, capped at 5000 for the grandstands as well as camping & those racing in the Champ Car Endurance event.

While July 4th weekend is traditionally marked with stock car racing at Daytona in recent years, the road course has held the "Paul Revere 250" on 29 previous occasions between 5 different series (IMSA GT / Grand-Am, NASCAR Grand Touring/Grand American & SCCA Trans-Am on the automobile side, while also 2 times for the AMA Championship Cup Series motorcycles), the IMSA WeatherTech Championship will restart this tradition in 2020 after a 10 year layoff.

No other IMSA sanctioned series are scheduled to race this weekend due to the pandemic.

I don't know but Bell could get his pilots in trouble telling a story like that. That's uh... that's not how that's supposed to work. If they flew with a plane that couldn't pressurize and continued on to the destination because the passengers told the pilots how to do their job, that a big big big problem. If that was a charter flight, a sharp FAA employee might look into it and could potentially get the crew and company in serious trouble.

Is the stream just on "please stand by" for anyone else?

Still under lightning delay?
